My Leos tail just fell off HELP!!!

It fell off well I was soaking her Please tell me what to do, she is already only 40 grams HELP!!!

Its got pretty much everything you need to know about taking care of a leo with a dropped tail.

What substrate are you using? If you are using repticarpet I would switch to paper towel until her tail grows back,as repticarpet is a breeding ground for bacteria. Right now, you want to minimize the chance of the tail becoming infected.

My leo, Miracle, was a rescue and had dropped her tail before I got her. Now, she is a happy leo and my heaviest leo! :P

I am using tiles, is it ok to keep on using them? In 3 days my family and I are leaving for vacation and she will not eat for a week. I am already feeding her thorugh a syringe, what can I do in the next 3 days to make sure she survives next week?

why are you feeding her through a syringe??? is she not eating otherwise. as far as the tail goes, she will be fine, it will regrow, but will not look like the original tail....

She is in the early stages of MBD so has not eaten for the last 2 weeks. My vet gave her liquid food for me to feed to her. What should I be looking for, for signs of infection? Is it ok to give her polysporin?

Does her tail look ok? Does it look like it might be getting infected?

Her wound looks fine, just fresh. Keep it clean, it'll look worse before it'll look better. You might want to talk to you vet about boarding your leo there while your gone, already being off food and now having no fat storage plus the trauma of a tail drop and an open wound, youre leo would be better off three days without food, before three days of not cleaning that wound. You need some help in my opinion. My local herp shop babysits for people as well. Good luck, and you can keep using the tiles, just wipe them down more often with a sanitizer to keep the environment clean and keep the warm side a bit higher around 96-98*F.

The problem is with the tiles, the max I have ever been able to get it is 90f. Should I swap the tiles for paper towel when I'm gone? Unfortunately my vet wont take her, they don't really do that...If it is not infected, after how long should the dark red begin to disappear?

Yes if it'll get you to temp. The dark will turn to a scab and heal if it doesn't get infected. This next week is critical to make sure that doesn't happen. You really need someone looking after the leo imo.

I know I need someone looking after the Leo, but really, there is no one to do it. My neighbor is looking after them, but only feeding them crickets, he is not willing to touch them.
