Feeding My Gecko Outside The Vivarium
Hi,
Instead of feeding my leopard gecko
crickets inside her vivarium and hunting around for the ones she didn’t eat I
was thinking of feeding her in a separate container. I would leave her and the
cricket in the container for around 10-15 minutes, that way I don’t have to
worry about any rouge crickets biting her in her vivarium. Do you guys think
this ok or do you think the new container would stress her out too much?

Re: Feeding My Gecko Outside The Vivarium
I've read some people having a separate container for feeding their leos. I think it just depends on the leo. Some will be comfortable eating outside of their viv, others wouldn't. Feeding the leo in the same container everytime may help your leo become used to hunting in the container.
If you are worried about loose crickets in the viv you could switch to superworms/morio worms or mealworms.

Re: Feeding My Gecko Outside The Vivarium
i almost always take my charm out to feed her, ever since she was a baby, but it also depends on your leo, i would go ahead and try it, and if she is a little skittish give her one of her fave hides to help her not be afraid, i know if charm is worried giving her a hide helps her to know its ok, and then she will start hunting. try it out for a couple days but if she doesnt eat and seems to stressed then i would go back to feeding in the cage ^_^

Thanks for the quick responses I will try it out and if she does not like it I will try hand feeding her.
