I posted some photos of them on another forum.. and when I type fat tailed jird into google image search.. i discovered LOADS of photos of my jirds

its from the OTHER forum that we use lol all the links go back to that. should they not protect our photos?

hmm i'm not sure to be honest.
If they have the photo's uploaded onto their forum database then yes they should be protected.
BUT, chances are they are publicly hosted with image hosting sites that link with forums.
Like mine is.

You know when you click the little photo thing to upload a photo on here, and it come up with that box, it says in the top right hand corner 'servimg', thats the name of our image host.

Its free and public so im sorry to say but anything you upload into it becomes public. Though if you attach photo's as an actual attachment, then you hand them over to me basically, in which case they won't be public.

im okay with my pets being on there.. but i posted pictures of me on her and i don't want them out for the world to view on google. if i delete the post with pics of me.. will it go off the image hosting website?

Right i think (and the think part is important, i am not entriely sure) that your picture's won't come up google.

BUT as i say im not entirely sure so don't sue me if you see them haha.
I will look into it further for you though, and i will found about where the rights are involved, because im not sure if; once you upload to a public service AKA a forum, then they are then free for all to see really.

Kel knows a lot a bout this type of stuff i think. So i'll have a look into it another time but maybe Kel will see this and tell us both in the mean time.

Anything that you put up on an internet site is public domaine unless copywrighted or uploaded into a private photo album like you can on image nerd or flickr and actually lock that album. otherwise it's free game to be re-published.

There you go then Sarah, sorry. If your uncomfortable having your picture up then tyou should take it down.

Oh okay thankyou.. well i dont mind the pics of my pets on google although people in my course doing assignments about fat-tailed jirds could use my pictures.. and i will be like ' thats my jird' and they won't believe me haha
