What type of calcium would you put in the calcium dish if you put neutrobal on all the food that goes in the tank and how often do you need to replace the food? confused

If you're using nutrobal that is an all in 1 suppliment and no additional dish with plain calcium is needed IF you're dusting every feeding or every other feeding or unless your leo is under 3 mos old or a currently laying female. If they are under 3 mos old or a laying female a cap with just plain calcium could be left in the viv.

Guys, you don't have to answer this question.
How do you tell where the "toilet area" of a leo's tank is? Is the "stool" obvious?
I'm just wondering because since you have to clean that area daily I need to know what i'm looking for.
As i said, you don't have to answer that. :)

Hey Jess.

Yep the stool is obvious.. it will be long, rounded and brown Very Happy Very Happy i can't believe im describing gecko poop to you :P it will have a white or yellowish coloured thing stuck to it.. or next to it.. that is urate.. thats their version of pee Very Happy Very Happy

They will choose an area to poop in and will always go there. This is why it is easy to use a litter tray with them because you just place it where they usually poop and put some of it in the litter tray.. and they will use it. I empty mine every day or every other day because its quite small Very Happy

The smell is usually a really good indicator. My leo's actually poop as far away from the warm side as the possibly can. Wink

No problem, it becomes evident when you go for a full cage clean after a week or so. You'll notice it right off, it'll be no secret and you can go for a litter box after they've chosen their spot.

Really? A litter box? What substrate so you use there and how would the leo know to use that? And don't you only do a full tank clean once a month?

I miss spoke. I do a deep clean once a month, washing all fixtures and everything, but I take everything out and wipe down my tile every week. The litter box from what I understand just has sand in it in a little box of sorts and you just put it where your leo's decide is their poo spot.

That's the way. I use sand in it because they are not eating in it and I put the litter box" where they decide to do their business. I find ti keeps down any smell because it gets coated in sand and it is easy to just scoop it out of the sand rather than scraping it off the floor Smile

I use a small layer of sand in the litter tray Smile
You know that he/she will use it because you check for a while when you first get him/her and then when you know where they poop, you just put some of poops in the litter tray and put it in that place. They will use it then Very Happy

I do a full clean out every month.. taking everything out for a good scrub and disinfecting inside the tank Very Happy .. but I empty the poop every week or so because its a small one.. I think kel uses a big litter tray and cleans it once a month or something like that. Am I right??

Yeah I think mine might be a llittle bigger sarah... about 5 inches wide and almost 7 inches long. I usually clean it with a sifter collander when theres about 5 poops in it, then I completely change out 90% of the sand every month. The sand dries out the poos fast so theres no stink and if they do actually pee in it the sand clumps it together for easy removal.

Mat Stat isn't a brand, its a type of thermostat.

Mat Stat turn off when it gets too hot and turn on when it gets too cold.
Pulse Stat pulses energy through to keep it a constant temperature.
Dimmer Stat increases and decreases the wattage it allows through i think, its good for lights i believe.
