Re: Banana :)
Banana is soooo adorable and way too gorgeous! Yes Charlie, it is easy to get her confused with a normal but her lavender patches and light background colour are the tell-tale signs of possessing mack snow genes. Sarah, you should breed her with another mack snow and make some super snow babies. I bet they would be as adorable as their mum!

Re: Banana :)
Was thinking Mack snow - but she seems a little too bright haha. Well now I know
Sorry but does this mean she is one of them "dirty Mack snows" ?
She is stunning what ever she is and I hope she makes you get good grades on your assignment

Yes, Charlie, if a mack snow has anything but white background like if its pale yellow or even yellow, it is considered a "dirty" mack snow. The genes are not pure and have been "muddied" by cross breeding into brighter coloured morphs.

Re: Banana :)
Mack Snows with yellow on them hsould not be considered as a dirty mack snow. Its a perfectly natural/normal occurence.
The snow gene does not allow for a gecko to profuce yellow... but remember mack snows are only the heterozygous version of the snow gene. Thus meaning the effect of the snow gene does not stop it from producing yellow pigment, but it certainly does lessen the yellow.
This being said, 90% of mack snows will produce yellow, however it IS possible for them to stay white for their life. Unlikely though.
Only once the gecko carries two copies of the snow gene (aka a super snow) then the snow gene stops the gecko from producing yellow pigment completely.

Thanks Jordan that was very helpful
So my 6month old Macaroni - could stay pure white - but its very unlikey and through out her life will gain a little bit of yellow each shed ?

Re: Banana :)
hahah yeah whatever Jordan said. He can explain it WAY better than I can. A very good explanation that I'm going to copy and save
I am going to breed her in a couple of years with a gecko I am buying from Jordan.. a super snow albino X with my mack snow.. make super snows and mack snows that carry albino genes??
