Should I be worried?
I know there's a settling in period with geckos when they go to a new home, so I'm not sure if this is cause for concern or not. Oliver's only eaten one superworm since I got him a little over a week ago, and that took a lot of coaxing. It wasn't dusted, he didn't want to take the dusted one. He's showed zero interest in mealies. I've tried dish feeding and by hand (the one he took was by hand). He's still a nice size, definitely not too skinny, so my main concern is vitamins. I leave calcium in his viv at all times, not sure if he's taking to that or not.
Any pointers on how to encourage him to feed? And am I just overreacting? hehe.

Re: Should I be worried?
I wouldn't worry too much as leo's can go for a few weeks without food and they'll be perfectly fine, as for vitamins in minerals i wouldn't panic yet. as long as he looks fit/healthy and he's not lossing weight he should fine. If yours will feed by hand keep feeding him like that
I have a breeding male that stops eating in breeding season and will go without food for upto 4/5months and altho he loses weight he always stays looking good, all i do when this happens is change from powder calcium to liquid clacium (ZolcalD) and put it into his water as he has to drink

ooo this liquid calcium sounds interesting.. because banana hasn't been eating properly lately.. and so she's not getting her vitamin D3.. should I use some of this liquid calcium? does that have D3 in it?

ooooo i want one .. can you use it instead of dusting? and how often do you put it in the water?
Re: Should I be worried?
That sounds like a good idea, i'll definitely look into it.
I am noticing weight loss, though. He tail looks thinner to me than when we got him. I really hope I get him eating soon.

Re: Should I be worried?
I know that at times it can be alarming to see them lose some weight but I don't think it is time to panic yet. I know that you are worrying though, I always do. Give it some time , and please keep us posted:)
Re: Should I be worried?
I will, and thanks! You guys here are great.
He's still really alert and everything, so I take that as a good sign.

That is a good sign that he is still alert and all. I had a male that I took in as a rescue and he weighed 24g..should have been more like at least 75g and the vet was just happy that he was standing tall and holding his own;)
Re: Should I be worried?
Wow, that's crazy! Hope he's doing well now.

Hehe! Sounds like a champ! And likely adorable, too. Though, I don't think I've ever seen a leopard gecko that wasn't.

This is what we love to do and why we do it. There is not a staff member here that doesn't have a heart of gold;) We are more than happy to answer all the question and watch people and their leos grow together
Re: Should I be worried?
Just to let you guys know, Oliver's eating like a champ now! He won't eat in front of me, but when I leave supers in his dish at night they are usually gone by morning. Only had one escape so far, but I check every morning for those. It's pretty easy since I use paper towel substrate.
As usual, you guys were right, he just needed a little more time. Thanks again!

Re: Should I be worried?
Good thing, I'm glad my leo's took supers and not being dish fed so well; not to brag or anything, haha!
Re: Should I be worried?
He went and made a liar out of my last night, ate two by hand. He never fails to keep things interesting...
Glad to hear things are going well with your leos, Kodie!
