poop... Empty poop...

Post by brnbear Thu Jul 14, 2011 10:09 pm

I have had my leo for two weeks...when I first got him his stool was rather hard and solid. Over the past 2 days I noticed that it is just a little bit more watery...not significantly...just a little bit. Is this a problem or is it just kind of a variable? Also...two days ago I fed him a waxworm...so maybe it is just that his system digests different food differently?

When I first got my girl, Nix, her waste was near all liquid. Ater a feeding or two everything "dried up" but I can always tell when she's pooped because it's a little more "wet" than Toothless's poop. She's as healthy as can be, so I don't imagine it's a bad thing.

What your leo eats is gonna usually affect their poo quality with in 48 hours of eating you could see changes... if you fed a higher fat wax worm and shes use to eating higher protein mealies then that is gonna reflect in her leavings. Id just keep an eye on it after shes back on her regular diet and see how it is. Also if you want to make waxies a part of her diet rotation do it on a regular schedule so her system will adapt and kind of be ready for it I guess you could say. It won't be as hard on her the next time she gets them in rotation.

Something else to remember is you may have caught this poo sooner than the one that looked more dried out... all poos will come out with a modicum of fluid that dries up really fast so maybe the poo you found was just really really fresh
