My old gecko hated being held he would bite, dory always loved to be hold but won't let me nowsmsararas2 wrote:We all pose a threat Zak because we are big and imposing:D.
I have some leos that don't like me holding them but are more than willing to climb up on my hubby's arm without any urging.

Give her time hon. I KNOW that you just want to be her friend and the best thing you can do to be her friend right now is get her eating again and just gradually get her used to you again.

Okay, I will check her tummy once she comes out of her hide and I'll try and get a picture.

Re: Dory won't eat
If she's in a breeding cycle or might have eggs in her it could be uncomfortable to be held or she could jut be acting like a moody like all us gals can from time to time having eggs could also be why she regurged, full of egg, no room for food. Can you check her tummy? I know you're saying she takes a defensive posture with the tail but I think we need to know what her belly looks like. If she was 7 month old on the 7th of may, that would make her 10 months (almost 11 months) old. This is right around the proper time to startlooking for signs of ovulation. If you can't see her belly at least give hr a lay box. Leos will ay eggs even if they aren't fertilize (been bred). My boy Eros is just starting to come out ofbreeding mode gradually increasing appetite finally after months of this spotty eating. Like was said just keep offering her regular diet on a regular schedule and she will eventually eat when she feels she needs. Don't try to coax her too much with junk food.
As long as she's healthy, and aside of the regurge, she appears to be... no runny stool etc. Just be patient, and try not to freak too much. Maintain higher temps like you've been, keep fresh water and a dish of calcium with D3 in the viv ( with D3 cause if sh isn't eating she isn't getting it any other way and she needs D3 to absorb calcium) to make sure she's getting her proper suppliments espeshally if she's ovulating.

Zak she looks like a lovely and very healthy leo. You have done a great job taking care of her. If she goes on a bit of a hunger strike I wouldn't worry about it:)

Re: Dory won't eat
I agree also... she's at a wonderful weight/condition. I think I can see some fat pads in her belly along the right side, but no signs of ovulating (which was confirmed with becca and jolene from your pix) so I just honestly think she's full Keep up the good work, she looks great and very healthy

Re: Dory won't eat
I am still to this day having trouble getting her to eat, she does eat here and their like every month about once, or twice, but it bugs me because I don't want anything to happen to her. This is a picture of her recently on September 27th and later today I will take another one, and weigh her.
