Houdini, my ball python, now has a GREAT shed and his first meal under our care! The shed was almost perfect, no eye caps or stuff like that, but his tail after the vent has stuck shed on it. Should I peel it off, or soak it and remove it? We tried to feed F/T one last time, and Houdini wouldn't have it. So we went down to Alligator Alley and purchased a live jumbo mouse and he took it down like a champ.

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

what do you mean by no eye caps kodie? the shed skin should have eye caps on it when it comes off, and the shed skin in the vent you should just be able to gently pull out (i had to on garys 7ft+ carpet python yesterday)
looks like houdini is a live feeder then Smile

There weren't any eye caps left on Houdini, is what I tried to say, haha.

Yep, there seems to be a family owned rodent farm near where I live for college. So when I move back, I'll have cheap feeders too! Very Happy

Glad to hear all went well with the shed and feeding... Our boy Loki is doing wonderfully as well on his all gerbil diet... consistantly eating 3-4 every week and gaining steadily. Awesome on the shed... Loki had a problem over the winter (all that darn dry air) with eye caps and foul shedding... took months to resolve and a lot of persistance on my boys part (since its technically HIS snake) but it resolved finally. Guess we're lucky Loki is the type of ball that actually likes his head and face handled... like chin rubs and noogies Very Happy odd python...

Have we even seen a picture of this fella yet Kodie??
