I would say no on the basis that even though you might know the land pretty well, you don't know what run off of parasites or pesticides there could be.

It is generally NOT recommended to feed your leo wild caught bugs as they do travel and could have ingested some toxic matter along their travels. I wouldn't risk it unless you know for sure they are farm raised worms. It's a big risk. Earthworms pick up a lot of heavy metals from the earth they ingest and Im not sure how that would affect a leo but heavy metal toxicity is NOT a good thing... I've seen it do some bad damage to dogs.

IF, however you collect a bunch and start yor own colony in a controlled environment and in earth YOU put together and know is safe then those you could feed as you would know there's no toxins in the soil they're eating. It would probably take a good couple weeks to make sure that any wild caught earth worms have cycled any "wild" earth out of their systems and are now solely full of what is in your earth.

Agreed with both. Personally I would not feed them wild caught. You never know where they have been and what they have eaten.

I've read in a herp book that if you breed them yourself then they are a great treat for geckos Smile .. you cannot use wild ones as everyone said because they can contain toxins and parasites. I have read of a way to clean out earthworms by putting some into animal friendly compost for a few weeks and eventually they will be cleaned off all toxins and such.. but I would research that Very Happy

I would still be wary of the same things that could affect a leo could possibly affect your fishes too... but if you've been doing it for quite some time and the fish are fine then no worries I guess...

earth worms are great for occasional treats for my fish. they very rarely get them and as long as you know that you dont use fertilizers or pesticides in your yard they are safe to consume. even humans could eat them if your into that kind of stuff lol. they are very high in protein which is good for my fish.

They also seem a bit big for a leopard to eat in my opinion. Smile

They wouldl ikely need to be cut into pieces but as long as prey isn't bigger around than the space between your leos eyes it should be an ok feeder.
