Re: New Leo Morph ID
The close up of the eye with the red lines is usually indicitive of bell albino, and I also see a faded bold stripe in the 2nd pic. The first one looks more tremper to me with the faded white banding and head spotting. Hopefully one of our more experienced morph pros will chime in and confirm something for ya If one is tremper and one is bell please don't breed them. It's unethical to cross the albino strains.

not to hijack this but i am new so why is it unethical? I'm assuming albino+albino= genetic problems?

Re: New Leo Morph ID
It's a HUGE controversy about crossing the albino strains. it muddies the waters so to speak, makes genetic mutts that are really useless to the serious breeder, it makes double hets for different albinos and can lead to incompatible traits being bred into the leos adding to potential for genetic defect from my understanding of it all. Any ethical breeder will/should NEVER cross the 3 albino strains.

You can do Tremper + Tremper = Tremper and Bell + Bell = Bell, but Tremper + Bell = normal het for Tremper het for Bell, and then if those breed you have some mutt that is some morph that is also het Tremp het Bell. See? Very confusing! So, thats why we tend to stay away from mixing albinos, because they actually make normals het for both strains.
Re: New Leo Morph ID
Ahhh man that sucks.. But it is what it is, was hoping i could breed them. If someone could give confirmation to kermits ID that would be appreciated.

Re: New Leo Morph ID
They are both Tremper Albino's. The second one has minimal spotting and could class as a Hybino.

Re: New Leo Morph ID
Jordan how are you figuring the second is a tremper hon? The head spotting and red veins really look bell to me but I'm no where as up on my morphs as you are. Educate me please

That's why he said Hybino, which means Hypo Albino. Which, like hypo normals, has a reduced amount of spots that also look lighter.
Re: New Leo Morph ID
Yeah I understand the hybino part, but it's the size of the spots that's throwing me plus the red eye veining.
Re: New Leo Morph ID
All albino's have the red veins, its more the background of the eye to look at. Trempers have the grey/silver background, whereas bells will have a light pink-ish background.
And rainwaters are near undetectable without genetic background lol since there eyes look pretty normal.
