Skin Shedding
Hey all, just thought I'd share this. I was dreading my first skin shed with my gecko. Just because of the stories you heat about them losing toes etc. I came home tonight and saw she has had a skin shed. No signs of it like I have read on here about them going off food etc. I had to help her remove a little bit from her nose using a cotton bud soaked in warm water. Apart from that she done it all her self. Toes and all. I collected a few bits up that was on the floor. I know people say they don't normally eat for a few days after, but I thought I'd try all the same. She eat 3 supers, which shocked me abit. That's all really, just thought if share my first skin shedding experiance.

Re: Skin Shedding
Congrats on your leos first shed!
You can actually leave the skin in there - they eat their skin!

Re: Skin Shedding
@drip55, yes, I do seem to of experienced and easy one - phew!
@kathstew, yeah I know though they do. I gathered she didn't want it as its been in her log hide with her for minimum of a few hours. Didn't know weather o leave it on or not as it had been a while

Re: Skin Shedding
Glad your first shed went well, now lets just hope she keeps it all down. That's a huge meal. The scraps she didn't eat, it's fine to throw them out. She won't miss them.
Re: Skin Shedding
That what she normally had. I normally give her a large one and two small ones. Always seems to be fine. I'll watch her though

Re: Skin Shedding
Always seems to be fine...on days her belly wasn't full of shed... It could also constipate her so keep checking for poo. She should have 1 within 48 hours of eating.
Re: Skin Shedding
Ok cheers. Will keep a watch
