Pepper and Biffles update!
Pepper is HUGE. Fatty patty baby. :P She's almost 10" long, I tried to get her to straighten out on top of a ruler, but we all know how leo's are here. I wish I could measure her weight! Sadly, I don't have a gram scale. ;/ Buuuuut she's huge. Just sayin. I love the smiley face on her head! And biffles is growing bigger and bigger! Her pics were taken just a day after she shed, so she was nice and bright, and fat from her skin and her gobbling up mealworms. :P Silly goose.
Also just a tiny update on their tank - it now has better calcium powder and a digital thermometer heat probe for the hot side. Yay!

Re: Pepper and Biffles update!
Biffles... cute name, great looking animals but I notice from your pix biffles has pockets behind her left leg. What's your diet and calcium supplimenting program like?
Re: Pepper and Biffles update!
Thanks! My best guy friend named her. He calls me biffles, which is what BFFL (best friends for life) would sound like if it were a word. :P And yes, I am cutting down on her diet. I feed primarily mealworms, occasionally crickets. Pepper is the one with fat pockets though. :P
Thank you.
Thank you.

Re: Pepper and Biffles update!
Pepper is the bright one with no spotting? She doesn't look over weight, those are either calcium or protein pockets. If its a mealies staple you might want to include a higher fat feeder like butter worms, and bump up to super worms instead of mealies. My adult male usually eats 2-3 supers 3x a week and he's a chunk. So depending on what your suppliment schedule is I can't rightly say if its protein or calcium deposits.
Re: Pepper and Biffles update!
Yes, sorry! I posted the pics in the wrong order. >_< Pepper is the SHTCT. I named her that when I knew nothing about leopard gecko coloration, and I was expecting one that was all covered in spots. Silly. Hehe. They may be calcium pockets. I keep calcium in the tank at all times and dust every other feeding... I'll cut back to dusting maybe 2-3 times a week? The only place to buy food in my area is petco/petsmart. Do they sell butterworms there?
Just out of curiosity, how many leo's do you have?

Re: Pepper and Biffles update!
I just have my 1 leo, we went thru bubbles too with him. First I figured calcium since I dusted with repashy calcium plus all in 1 suppliment plus had a dish of pure calcium in his viv. Took out the pure calcium from the viv and just dusted every other feeding with the repashy since he was a sub adult, he didn't need so much supplementing any more. The bubble went down alot but not completely after about a month and a half, so then I figured whatever was left was from excessive protein so I started seriously varying his diet, now its almost completely gone, just a little bulge instead of an obvious bubble but you obviously can't feed a completely protein free diet so that took quite a bit longer to dissolve. So what I do now with eros since he's gonna be 2 in march is I leave calcium in his viv 24/7 and dust with the repashy once a week to ensure he gets his proper D3 and vitamins. The rest of that bubble should be gone in no time but its taken a good 4-5 months to get it where it is now. He only eats usually 2 bugs, occasionally 4, 3x a week so def not over fed. Hope some of that helps
Re: Pepper and Biffles update!
That did help actually! Aww, that's cute. <3 I thought 1 leo would be enough for me. Nopee! Lol. Talked my dad into letting my buy biffles. <3 Thank goodness he agreed. She's so much fun! I'll work on getting the supplements right and varying their diets more.
