Blizzard or Patternless?
This topic was split from the 'Hello'. undergroundleopardgecko's introduction thread.
Thanks people.
Well about the illegality of Leopard Geckos, I think is very silly because Leopard Geckos could not create feral populations in a tropical and HUMID Island, but such is life.
Jordan, I agree with your grievance. it wasn't my intention to breed them, but I bought them together but on the first day I has a little accident with the hood of the tank and it fell on the male's tail, then I decided to separated them until the Male regenerates his tale. But one night I was cleaning the Males's "hospital" tank and put him in the female's cage just for a minute, and the next thing I see is male mating with the female.
About their morphs, I'm really new to Leopard Geckos but I will post pictures so you can ID their Morphs. Here is one of the Female before she laid.
Let me know if she is a Blizzaard or Patterless or whatever.
Thanks

Re: Blizzard or Patternless?
She is a very nice looking blizzard. Is she ever cute. Sarah(gothgirl) will be drooling for sure...lol!
Since you have already said that you are new to the leo world, I would like to offer a couple suggestions if I may. I am assuming that she is standing on her lay box/moist hide. The wood chips would not be very good for her. A couple options would be sphagnum moss(fairly expensive) or something called vermiculite(fairly cheap). The moss would be found at a pet store but the vermiculite would be found in a garden section where they sell flowers. It is actually a flower bedding but works great to hold the moisture for our lady leos to lay their eggs in. They usually like to dig for a couple days or so before they lay and the vermiculite is perfect for this.
Now, the rocks that are under the lay box I am going to assume is the flooring for her tank(aka substrate). They really shouldn't be kept on anything that is loose like rocks, sand, wood chips and so on. I would remove the rocks and some of the options that most people use are slate tiles(most expensive), peel and stick floor tiles( I get them at a dollar store here in Canada), or just plain and simple paper towel. I use paper towel in tanks where I have lizards that are sick or being quarantined because I can just throw it out, not a big deal. then I use the peel and stick tiles in the more peremanent tanks because they look fairly nice. It all depends upon what you can afford and what you prefer.
Well, there are my first two long winded suggestions for you. She is a beautiful girl, I would really like to see the male as well!!

Re: Blizzard or Patternless?
Hi i'm afraid its a Murphy Patternless not a blizzard. But its still a nice gecko, i love all the gecko's with no pattern.
Thanks for answering my grievance, i understand your situation, its quite a common mishap amongst new breeders, but you gotta be careful lol.
Make sure you've done plenty of research on incubating, breeding and hatchling care, if you plan on keeping/hatching the eggs. Of course there is always the forum for any questions you might have
In response to what Jolene said above, about your tank.
You will find all your husbandry and housing questions answered here:
http://www.leopardgeckoforum.com/t55-proper-housing-for-leopard-gecko#92
Its a great caresheet written by one of our very knowledgable members.
Another alternative would be to fill out the Health and Husbandry Care Questionnaire with your answers.
http://www.leopardgeckoforum.com/t134-please-read-and-fill-out-with-your-health-questions#92
This will tell us all about your set up and husbandry regime and we can offer suggestions advice, if you wish.

Re: Blizzard or Patternless?
I thought that if it was a murphy's the tail was a different color.......oh well, thanks for correcting me Jordan. Sorry about that underground.
Re: Blizzard or Patternless?
Yeah if its murphy patternless they tail will be silvery/grey. If its blizzard, it will be pinky white.
Re: Blizzard or Patternless?
Gotcha, then I think I got myself am murphy's too and I always thought she was a blizzard. I will post a pi of her later, right now I am justs checking in then gotta take my son to school.
Re: Blizzard or Patternless?
LOL...I know tons and tons about leos but when it comes to ID morphs the little details seems to elude me!
Re: Blizzard or Patternless?
She is a little cutie Def. a patternless gal. Would love to see a pic of her mate...
PS thanks for the care sheet compliment Jordan never considered myself *Very knowledgable* but in certain areas I guess I am Just don't ask me any breeding questions

Re: Blizzard or Patternless?
well when you write your own caresheet, then you must be very knowledgable in that category.
Anyway, lets leave this thread as an introduction, we appear to have taken over it.
Sorry undergroundleopardgeckos.

The Morph question is in an introduction thread though. So we're leaving it as an introduction and splitting this into the right section.
Re: Blizzard or Patternless?
Thanks for the answers.
I want to clear up some things. First the thing is her laying box is Coconut hush, not wood. About the substrate, my original intention wasn't to breed them but to make a nice natural looking habitat for them. But then people always talk about sand, how this was dangerous because of the possibility of impaction, but then I read that they actually don’t live in sand but in loose rocks, and that is why I put rocks. But anyway I’m thinking in putting some natural looking tiles with that king of gravel between them, but I really don’t want any Carpet or anything like that.
I would open another thread so you can ID her mate.
Thanks

Re: Blizzard or Patternless?
Fair enough underground, they are your pets and you may do with them as you please. We can offer suggestions or opinions on here but that is all they are. Either way she looks very happy and healthy !!
Re: Blizzard or Patternless?
Yeah i've heard rocks can be fine, but they must be bigger than their mouth, or too big to swallow.
I've also heard of a lot of cases where leo's have had bad foot or leg injries from walking on the rocks. Their feet can slip off rocks awkwardly sometimes.
Sort of like spraining your ankle.
But tiles sounds like a better idea. The caresheet i mentioned earlier goes into detail about tiles i believe.
Good luck with the set up

Re: Blizzard or Patternless?
I'd loved to see some photos of your whole set-up. I always love looking at natural-looking enclosures. We have a sticky thread in the housing and husbandry section where you can post photos of your set-up
