So....my starving gecko
I decided to jut throw a bunch of baby crickets in his viv. I assumed he ate some because he had a giant, healthy looking poop the next day and I hadn't force fed him in a week. Plus there seemed to be less when I cleaned out the viv. Well, I just did it again right now, throw a bunch of baby crickets in, and viola! He's running around hunting! I am SO excited. :P I love this little guy so much! I guess he just needed some viv remodeling and some exciting food.

Good deal, just be sure to count how many crix youre giving and remove any uneaten ones so they're not nibbling on your leo stressing it out. Plus they'll eat poo (their own that is) and that certainly isn't healthy for your leo to eat crix gutloaded with poo. Congrats on finding what trips his trigger

Thank you! :P He just ate 14 baby crickets and a small mealie. You think that's ok?

If they're pin head crix, and he's under 6 mos old, eh I wouldn't worry too much but since he's been off food for a while you might want to lighten up a bit for the first few feedings until full gi motility is restored. That way you don't risk constipating him or possible regurge.

So after all this time, all he needed was a fast moving insect that allowed him to use his hunting abilities I'm just glad to hear he is finally eatingBody Thief wrote:I decided to jut throw a bunch of baby crickets in his viv. Yeah, I'm not sure. I offered him crickets before and they sparked no interest in him. They were medium sized though, so maybe the size intimidated him. He has also been a lot calmer since I changed his viv around. :P
