Re: Help on what morphs I have.
To me the last one looks like an APTOR....Albino Patternless Tangerine ORange. The first one I would like to say Mack Snow but I am not positive. I know there are others that will chime in here and confirm or deny what I have said.....lol
Re: Help on what morphs I have.

Re: Help on what morphs I have.
Color morph isn't as important as not crossing the albino strains. If you got these guys from a breeder they should be able to tell you the morphs... if they were bought at some big box pet store then it would likely not be wise to breed unknown morphs together as it will only serve to muddy the genetic waters so to speak and put a lot more mutt leos on the market with unknown morphology.
There is a terrible epidemic in the leo fancy right now... that anyone with a leo thinks they should breed it and produce more leos of unknown morphology. As fun of a hobby as this is it really does the hobby no justice when beginner breeders make these serious mistakes. There needs to be an understanding that leos of unknown heritage should remain pets only as offering a guess on their morph only is that, a guess, and doesn't even come close to touching the hets in the animal. Imo only animals obtained from knowledgeable breeders with known lineage should be bred to better the fancy instead of oversaturating it with a lot of pet quality animals that will only fall into the same unexperienced hands and propigate the same problems... Sorry if this seems harsh, it isn't meant to be, but it is a MAJOR undertaking deciding to breed your animals, there's a lot to consider when breeding.

Re: Help on what morphs I have.
Again tho not knowing what albino strain, tremper, bell or rainwater/los vegas is mucho important. Don't wanna cross those strains
Re: Help on what morphs I have.
I know. Thats why im having second thoughts about breeding them. I might just go buy a pair from a breeder. If I have the money to.

Re: Help on what morphs I have.
It would certainly be a better option in the long run if you want to be taken seriously as an ethical breeder of high quality animals for sure. There's some breeders in Ohio that I'm sure you could pick up a trio or a pair from rather inexpensively ($80-$160 range) if their left overs from last years breeding season. I paid about $110 with shipping for my boy out of Utah. Not to mention what I pay for my show rabbits... Ugh $75 for a 2.4 pound rabbit but a grand champion
Re: Help on what morphs I have.
I might have to look up some top breeder's from Ohio and Kentucky. Because I live in Kentucky. Any sugestions on a good breeder in my area?

Re: Help on what morphs I have.
Keep in mind that breeding leopard geckos isn't profitable. You are going to be in the red - for a few years, if you breed that long. I recommend doing a lot of research before you attempt breeding. Research all the different morphs. Decide what you like, and find a breeder who has what you are looking for. Don't buy from the closest breeder - choosing what you like is going to make you want to stick with breeding leos longer.
I wish you the best in your breeding! This is my first year breeding leos as well.

Re: Help on what morphs I have.
I feel like the second is an APTOR, too. As for the first, I think its just a nice normal. The only way to say it is mack, is to breed it or have seen it as a baby. So, for now, it's a nice normal.
Re: Help on what morphs I have.
I got it when it was a baby and it was about the same, a light yellow color with the bands on it.

Re: Help on what morphs I have.
I have researched alot about breeding. I have a incubator and everything for hatching leo's. Just been out of leopard geckos for awhile and got back into them and was wanting to know more about the morphs and breeding them before I start breeding them. And this forum looks to be the best place to find out alot about leopard gecko's.

Then yes, it's just a simple normal. Mack's are black and white when young.

Re: Help on what morphs I have.
I dont know how close you are to Lexington but there is an expo at the Thoroughbred center Sat., Jan. 21 and another expo Sat., Feb. 4 at the expo center downtown. There always seem to be quite a few breeders selling leos. You could probably pick up a good breding pair or trio there reasonably priced.

me: I agree and back this up, I know my females an Tremper albino and unlike other people if there wasn't major supporting evidence I wouldn't have bred her. But currently as was stated people are going to petco and buying animals they have no business breeding and muddying up the gene pool for the rest of us. I guess this just really annoys/angers me.
