Introducing...?
So about a month ago I purchased a new baby leopard gecko, a Tremper Albino named Biffles. ;D I also call her Ninja and Athena. Anyway, the plan was to quarantine her and then slowly introduce her to Pepper, my 7 month old SHTCTB. So she has been a month in quarantine, and is as healthy as any young leopard gecko can be. She eats like a dream and is marvelous at handling, sooo much better than Pepper was at her age. Well the plan was to put her and Pepper together in the same tank eventually, seeing as they are both female. So after this past month in quarantine, and this past week of daily interaction between them in non territorial settings, I decided today was the day! So I put both Pepper and Ninja on my bed and let them roam around while I scrubbed down the 10 gallon. (This will be upconverted to a 20 gallon if all goes well.) I washed and completely rearranged the decor and added a few things, and I put sand in a corner of the tank. This will be gone ASAP, I just wanted to make sure there were enough changes made so that Pepper couldn't tell it was the same tank. As soon as they are used to each other, that sand will be in the trash, and the entire tank will be lined with paper towels. Most of it is now anyway. I will be feeding them both on the paper towel as well, so the risk of impaction will be minimal.
So I just put them both in about half an hour ago. They have shown no signs of aggression, no tail waving or nibbling, and although they do lick and smell each other when they cross paths, both have been too busy exploring to be bothered with each other. I know it has only been half an hour though, and I will be watching them through the night.
But does this seem okay? I don't want either of them getting hurt, but they both seem fine so far and the tank looks good and is all squeaky clean. Please let me know what else I should do? Thank you!

Re: Introducing...?
it sounds like you are doing a good job so far, i think the only thing we would sagest is to get a bigger tank and add double the hides. just keep watching them and have the other tank ready encase anything was to happen and you needed to separate them.
Re: Introducing...?
There are 3 large hides so far, I'll be sure to get some more once I get a bigger tank, hopefully soon. I'll keep watching them, still no problems though. Yup, I have biffle's other tank ready in case something goes wrong. Thank you!

Re: Introducing...?
i think the sand is only cause for problems. it is not going to make any difference on if she notices it is the same tank, only possible cause of impaction. get rid of the sand. and i think a 20 long is as small as i would go for one gecko, let alone two...i would reccomend a 40 gal tank for two leos. this will reduce stress, and give them room to get away from each other. although they may "hang out" for short periods of time, they are solitary lizards, and would honestly do better alone...but if you insist on putting them togeather, give them alot more room.

Re: Introducing...?
I'll be getting rid of it tomorrow morning. I only put it in because I read that once a leo is put into an area and stays there for any length of time, they become territorial, and any other animals coming into it are a threat, so by changing the decor as much as possible and cleaning the tank I would prevent this from happening. Don't worry, it will be gone tomorrow. And my aunt may have either a 20 gallon or a 30 gallon I will hopefully be getting soon. Then they will live in that.
So far they are doing quite well. Pepper isn't eating as much as she usually does, but this happens sometimes, where for 1 or 2 days she doesn't feel very hungry and then the 3rd day she is starving. I'm sure she'll come around. There's been no fighting or bullying, no scrapes or cuts or missing digits.

Re: Introducing...?
If it were me I would have waited until I had a larger tank rather than put both leos in a cramped space when tensions are already high. Once they get over learning their surroundings they could start vieing for dominance now that they know what their resources are. You will usually have a "honeymoon"period of a couple weeks then all of a sudden all hell can break loose, they could have finally reached their wits end or it could all go fine, you never know with group situations, I'd have just left them living alone honestly.
Re: Introducing...?
Okay, I moved Biffles back into a 7 gallon storage bin until I can get a bigger tank and try again. I appreciate all of the feedback and input. Still no fighting or injuries but you're right, it's best not to risk it.
