We need a crested gecko caresheet :)

Hey everyone

Kath -Kathstew- has made me want a Crested Gecko ALOT!!

I've been reading about them online but I would really love it if someone from the forum would make a caresheet on their general husbandry and diet. some advice on the cost of keeping them.. like their crested gecko diet stuff would be great, too

I saw some baby crested geckos in the pet store today.. and I am going to try and persuade my mom to let me get one because I have a big tank that my giant african lands snails used to live in that I could use

I will make one aswell when i get home from school. They are really easy to care for. And they are cheap.

Haha, I would love to make one. Maybe me and Lindsey can do a joint one? Would you like to do that Lindsey?
We could like split the information in half. You have more experience with cresties obviously as I've only had mine for a few weeks. XD

Also, just a little note, I'm working on a review for the crested gecko diet, so that should be up soon. I can include some info in it in my care sheet though.

And I think Karagain has a caresheet she posted on cresties as well.

How do you want to split it, like any section you want to specifically do?
I think we should cover:
-tank size
-staple diet & treats
-housing (like males together is no-no, females can be together etc.)
- how to sex them
- general cost upkeep (we could probably both do this one, to compare prices Canadian to US)
-what is good to have in their tank (decor wise)
-general husbandry

Thoughts?

I dont have anything specific that id want to cover. Any section is fine with me.

Alot of stuff on that caresheet isnt proper care for crested geckos.

If you want any advice I know alot about crested geckos Just don't have the time to sit down a write a care sheet x

Lindsey - ok, I'll do how to sex them, their diet, general upkeep in canadian prices.
And you do tank size, general upkeep in US prices, how you house them (like no males together etc).
And then maybe we can both do one on day to day care that includes humidity and then we can combine that section together. Cause I think that section will be the biggest section. And then that can include the decor they like (how they like to climb so they should have branches etc).
I'll pm you my stuff when I'm done it. I should have my stuff done by the end of tomorrow, probably earlier.

No problem Sam! I don't mind making one. I used your caresheet as a beginner guide, and built off it as I went along. I think we are just gonna go more in depth in our version.

Sure! I gotta set-up for a male on his own, and I have a small container for two baby cresties at the moment. I think it would be good to show the small container cause then we can show that the babies need smaller tanks, and you gotta slowly upgrade them as they get bigger.
