Re: skinny gecko
The only problem with going to the vet is there is not one for like 100 miles from where I live.

Although they aren't specifically reptile/exotic animal vets, have you asked the two vet clinics in your town if they can deal with reptiles? There's Town & Country Veterinary Clinic and Le Mars Veterinary Clinic.
EDIT: There's also a vet clinic in Remsen. Marcus/Remsen Veterinary Clinic. Not too far from you.
Also, Valley Veterinary Center in Cherokee. Moville Veterinary Clinic in Moville...Anthon Veterinary Clinic in Athon...and a slew of them in Sioux City.

Re: skinny gecko
Well, heartbreaking news..he ate the slurry for one day then wouldn't eat it for the next few days. He passed away sometime during the night last night im devastated. He was my first gecko. Im going to bury him in my back yard but its going to be hard work as the ground is frozen but im going to work really hard to give him the proper burial he deserves R.I.P Draco the Leo.

Re: skinny gecko
Aaron, I would strongly suggest that you get rid of the sand or you may lose Draco Junior too! The sand may look nice but the chance of impaction is really high and you just cannot take that risk, not when such a beautiful and intelligent creature is in your care.

Re: skinny gecko
lol that i have to say is a heck of allot better then sand even tho allot of people don't like it because of how it can catch your leos teeth on it and it holds bacteria its still sooooooooo much better then sand so way to go!
Re: skinny gecko
yeah im hoping to get something else for him pretty soon...any recomendations?

Re: skinny gecko
yes i do! you can always go the cheap rout with them by using paper towels, that is what i am using right now for my little charm, or if you want a more natural look my favorite so far is the peal and stick vinyl floor tiles that look like rock/slate, i just finished putting some in a tank i am working on and you can barley see the seems it looks awesome. here is a thread that list some of the different types of substrate you could use and the goods and bads about all of them.
http://www.leopardgeckoforum.com/t166-proper-housing-for-leopard-geckos
the peal and stick tiles are awesome and like $2 each and when doing a tank it doesn't take very many.

Re: skinny gecko
Awww i just read this whole thing, so sorry Draco died :/ DJ looks cute as hell though! I'm glad you still got one, i dont know what i would do if i lost both of mine. I'm using paper towels at the moment because its just simple and easy. Stick some pictures up of your setup when its done (: Use photobucket and your pcitures will come up full size and they wont need to be downloaded (i am funny about downloading things)
