Re: Skinny!! :o
Thanks
As for the food, It's something I picked up at Petco when I was getting more crickets. Its made by zoomed, and I was kind of doubtful that she would eat it, so I asked the reptile specialist and she said I could try it and if she didn't eat it I could always return it. So far she hasn't even noticed it :P

Re: Skinny!! :o
she probably wont eat it. they are insectivorous in the wild...hope i spelled that right, lol. so the 'food' will probably have to be moving...but they do lick calcium, and even vitamin powders up, so you never know.

Re: Skinny!! :o
hello and welcome to the forum! ok i think i know why your leo isnt eating, you are going to want to take the sand out and put paper towels in with her, sand is very bad for leopard geckos and can cause allot of health problems, allot of the time pet stores will tell you to use sand and tell you its made just for leopard geckos but the truth is no matter what kind of sand it is it is very bad and inst what they should be housed on. the heat lamp could be stressing her out and hurting her eyes, leos don't use heat lamps inless they are the blue night bulb or a ceramic heating bulb that doesnt produce light. so take out the light as well. also you should get rid of the thermometer you have those don't work for leopard geckos at all because you need to read the floor temp so you should run to the pet store and get a digital prob thermometer and place the prob on the floor of the tank above the heating pad in her hot hide, those only cost like $10. also any "dry" food they have at the pet store isn't good for leo's because they actually need to see their food moving to want to eat it, they are strictly insectivores. once you get these things taken care of i think your leo will be doing ALLOT better, they need heat from the ground to digest any food. here is a link to the proper housing for leopard geckos so you can read up on it and learn tons of stuff.

allot of the time the reptile "specialist" at pet stores don't know anything they are just the ones who take care of the ones at the stores so try not to take anything they tell you to seriously, doing your own research online helps allot and i know this forum is amazing with the knowledge it has on leos so im so glad you came here! also make sure the crickets are small enough for her to eat, they shouldn't be wider then the space between her eyes. also you are going to want to give her a moist hide. you can find out more about those in the thread i sent you. good luck and keep us updated on how she does!!

Re: Skinny!! :o
I am so sorry for your loss. Please spend some time on here getting to know us and how to help your little ones in the interim before you find a new addition. We are here to help and love to give answers.
Re: Skinny!! :o
Oh no! I'm so sorry! RIP Athena!
I agree with Jolene, spend a bit of time on here and ask all your questions before getting another leo. I suggest not getting it from a petstore, try to find a breeder in your area.
