Hey there guys!

Jut thought i'd tell you how Randall's doing now.

As i think i said when i first got him, his tail was pencil thin, he didn't eat, and he had parasites. (Poor thing). But since then his tail has gone to about three times the size i was when i got him and he can't get enough wax worms. He's very healthy, laid-back and is being brought out once a day for his exercise. He seems quite happy.Back to Health 800892966 cheers

Thanks guys.
Got told to use wax worms as a staple diet from the vet. He still loves his locusts.
Will send in pics soon.

NEVER use waxworms as a staple diet!!
They are addicting, and are seriously unhealthy! :O

You should use things like crickets (although they have a lot of cons themselves), mealworms, superworms, phoenix worms or dubai roaches. Not sure about locusts.

PLEASE change your staple diet.

I think locusts are fine as a staple diet, although make sure you dont feed him above third hopper as locusts have barbs on the back of their legs and they can harm your leo when he's eating/catching them Smile Smile

Locusts shed/moult their skin/exoskeleton just like herps as they grow and mature. After the third moult locusts are mature to a point that they develop the dangerous leg barb. Breeders of locusts apparently age their bugs by sheds insted of size like worms are, so third hopper would be like adult/large mealworm. Pretty interesting how they grade them.
