Glimmer update & Question!

Glimmer is so cute. Here are some ok pictures, she wouldn't sit still at all though. I was wondering if there was any way to block so much lighting from her cage? I put black paper on the back outside of her cage (pic below) but she doesn't seem to want to come out of her brown hide at all. I've seen her out once at the night. Also, I notice that she seems to be EXTREMELY sensitive to light. Like, whenever she comes out of her hide she closes her eyes. Other than that she is doing great.

Yes, that morph is VERY sensitive to light. I have two of them and they hardly seem to open their eyes at all...unless there is food involved...lol.

I would personally not have them so close to the window to begin with and I would try to find a room where there is little light coming in or somewhere that you can maybe put a blanket over the blinds to make it darker in there. I ended up moving mine to the basement cause I felt bad for them always shying away and closing their eyes and they seem to be happier down there. Also when I go down I only put on a lamp instead of turning on the lights.

Would putting film around the cage help? Im not allowed to have the reptiles anywhere in the house except my room so i cant move her. (my mom is not a big fan).

I am not sure what you mean by film, can you explain please.

i keep my light sensative girls in tubs against the same wall as the window so there not in direct light

the film would basically be the same thing as tint on a window

That may very well help. It is not going to hurt to try it for sure.

Haha thank you so much! I have not seen her on the highest point by herself yet. I put her on there myself and she climbed down with no problem.

I'm sure once she is completely settled in, she'll be up there all the time. Miracle (my adult leo) has a reptihammock, and she always climbs to the highest point to sleep :P

Does it take up alot of space in her cage?

No not really, but I have a 20 gallon long tank, and plus its a good bit above ground. I'll get a pic of her tank sometime this week to show you.

sweet. i was thinking is my cresties would like it haha or maybe for Glimmer when shes older.
