Impaction and MBD Video *not for sensitive viewers*
This video really highlights of the importance of calcium supplementation and NOT to use sand. Ever. I had to deal with impaction once, it was heart breaking.

**Just a warning some viewers might find the video ddisturbing as it shows a gecko bloated from impaction and walking with severe MBD**

That is VERY sad indeed. That poor thing should be put out of it's misery.

Very sensitive video, but it's one of the those things that I feel people should see. Proper education leads to responsible keeping that shall end the suffering of poor leo's like that one.

Terrible, absolutely terrible. I do not know hoe people can do stuff like that. Could they not tell that it was suffering. I hope it is no longer suffering:(
Re: Impaction and MBD Video *not for sensitive viewers*
That's why I didn't remove it kodie and just put the warning for future viewers. I agree it is something that is very real happening every day to misinformed leo owners. Hopefully we can continue to educate the ignorent.
Re: Impaction and MBD Video *not for sensitive viewers*
I did take him to a vet. He was so impacted nothing could be done. He
took xrays and you could see nothing but sand. None of his organs could
be seen. I DID EVERYTHING for him. The vet said that even surgury could
not have been performed successfully due to their short D.I tract. He
said he may not even be able to eat properly again even if he survived
the surgery. Plus the surgery alone was over 150 dollars...That is a lot
of money that I didn't have.
Here's a post from 4 years ago, pertaining to the video. It seems the leo was an abandonment to a reptile shop. I applaud this person for going to the vet.
Re: Impaction and MBD Video *not for sensitive viewers*
Yes at least someone in that leo's horrid life at least TRIED to do that right thing... So was it the reptile shop that helped or hurt the leo... that part kinda confused me...
Re: Impaction and MBD Video *not for sensitive viewers*
I think Kel that it was dropped off at the pet shop because the old owner didn't know what to do with it:(
Re: Impaction and MBD Video *not for sensitive viewers*
Yeah, as I understand it, they were doing an all night cleaning session at this pet shop and someone happened outside and discovered it. Pretty horrible stuff.
