Re: Head Pitting
Yeah i know what you mean, but its a radical view to say we are all unethical by breeding albinism etc.. and brighter colours.
Glad to hear they haven't been bred.
Yeah temp fluctuation can cause defects in leo's too, so could be the cause. I know the most common defect to pop out of temp fluctuation is being born with no eyelids.
Maybe the OP could supply a picture of her gecko? and we could see if its the same thing.

Re: Head Pitting
no doubt brother. i am nobodys judge, so i look at it like this...if you are breeding quality animals and providing honest information to the buyer...go for it. i think alot of corn snake purist who get mad at people who hybridize need to chill out and stay out of it, honestly. if you dont like em, dont buy em! i understand the argument of trying to keep lines "pure"...but corns have been bred for so long, unless you catch wild stock and breed them yourself, how do you REALLY KNOW there are no intergrades in the bloodlines? ..anyways, this is for another post i dont wanna

Re: Head Pitting
Very interesting thought! I have been confused because she eats great, she is active, clear eyes. She has been gaining weight since I got her, her tail is starting to look plumper so I thought she was improving until I noticed the pitting. I will definately take a picture of her head if I can get this fiesty girl to sit still for 10 seconds. I did post a pic of her when I first got her in "showing off" titled "my two new geckos", not sure if you can see it there but I'll go take a look.
Thanks Again, I am so glad I joined this forum as I am learning so much!

Re: Head Pitting
So here is a picture from this morning. She is going into a shed so that is she is so pale. I also included a new body shot of her for those that remember how skinny she was in her "intro" picture.

Re: Head Pitting
She's looking really good... I'm not seeing a pit that looks like it would be from dehydration or emaciation. Could have just been something that developed as she was growing from lack of proper nutrition. Kinda like how the fontinels on babies can grow in all messed up (peake or indented) with improper nutrition. Keep up the good work... whtever you're doing is having positive effects
Re: Head Pitting
im with kel on this one, i dont see anything wrong with that leopard. i think she is beautiful! the ones i have seen are pretty visible, there is a big indent behind the eye on the head. i think that leopard looks really good.

Re: Head Pitting
Happy to help... and please... NEVER hesitate to ask ANY question no matter how simple or silly you may think it is... that's how you learn I swear some of my behavior professiors were likely sick of all my questions and debates that would drag class an extra half hour over schedule
Re: Head Pitting
Ignorance to me is someone who thinks they know it all but don't. We like all the questions asked.
Re: Head Pitting
That should be EDUCATED keeping Kodie imo... anyone can be responsible with their leo but ignorence can prevent proper care even tho they THINK theyre doing everything right...
Re: Head Pitting
nah i don't see it haha.
Leo's can just have slightly varying skulls.
Your leo looks perfectly healthy
