close call!!
last night i was checking all of my leopards, and one of the tubs is really tight as far as the height, so it is really low on air circulation...this particular tub does not have air holes in it yet because most of the species i have kept were higher humidity animals. well i was leaving a tiny crack in the tub(not pushing it all the way in) for better air circulation...well i went down today and was checking all my leopards, and when i got to TUG~SG~213(my best sunglow!) she was GONE!!!! i flipped out! pulled out the hides one by one, no leo....pulled out everything one by one...pulled the paper out by layer, still nothing!!!! i was getting really freaked out! she was NOT in there anywhere!!! i just kinda stood there dumbfounded! so i though, "maybe i put her in the wrong tub when i was taking pics yesterday"...so i pulled out EVERY leo i had, and dissected the tubs...nothin' aw sh**!!! so i though "here we go, time to rip this room to shreds!" she was in the second to the top tub....i have one corn and one boa left, and they are in the top tubs of that wall, because my other walls are in shambles as i am redoing everything! the corn male is in the on directly above her, and she obviously went up to get out right, so i pulled his tub out...and there she was!!! behind his tub!!! LESSON LEARNED!!! so now i am releived as all heck and can breath...i moved her to a position in the rack where there is a 1/16 inch gap, so that is sufficient air circ with the security of no escapes! PHEW!!! DO I FEEL STUPID!!!

Yeah i think we have all had the odd escapee. I found one of mine out of a tub and just sat on the heat cable... obviously she thought it wasnt warm enough in her tub lol.
Re: close call!!
he he he! after over 24 years of keeping herps, i have only ever had two snakes get loose! never found the kingsnake, that was a 50/50 i paid alot for because it was when the morph was still really new...and the corn male that got out a few months ago because (i think) one of the kids didnt get his tub slid all the way back in...anyways( i found him about a week ago), i thought,"these are not snakes, they cant get out of a tiny crack..." uh, hey stuge! yes they can!!! oh well, lesson learned! and that will never happen again...i hope! i guess at least i found her, and she didnt fall because she was at least five and a half foot from the ground!!! she probably would have been either seriously hurt or killed! ...and she is my best sunglow as far as looks go! i dont care about the prices though, i love all of my animals and dont want anything to happen to any of em!
