Night bulbs vs. Black light bulbs?
Are they the same. They produce the same color lights. But do black lights bulbs do the same thing as the "special" night bulbs? I have 2 (night bulbs) for my leo's but was just wondering if there's a difference between the 2.

a moonlight blue bulb is meant to shine in the light spectrum that the moon puts off and has a heat value whereas a regular black light really has no heat factor and is in a different color spectrum than the moonlight blue. It looks the same to us but will look completely different to your leo.

Ahhh. Okay thank you. I was just curious because the black light bulbs are like... 3 dollars at a party store.

Yeah, not quite the same thing altho you can use a black light if its just for viewing pleasure. I wouldn't get higher than 45 watt tho. That could possibly affect temps in a 10-20 long.

I read somwhere once that black bulbs can damage reptiles eyes. I'm not sure if they meant regular bulbs or what, but to be on the safe side I would't use it.
