Urgent! Light question.
Purchased a Leo today with some wrong information from the store. I have a light received from the store but no heating pad. What should I do for tonight to keep the tank warm until I can get a night time bulb or heating pad tomorrow.

One night of cooler temperature won't kill them. Just keep the room where the tank is not so cold tonight, the gecko should be fine.

Alright thank you! And what do you suggest? A night time bulb or a heating pad?

Re: Urgent! Light question.
First off, welcome to LGF and the wonderful world of leopard geckos! My name is Kathryn. I hope you enjoy all the crazy people we have here
A heating pad is a must. Leopard geckos use belly heat to digest their food, so they NEED a heat pad.
You need to get one ASAP. Ditch the light, as it will really just irritate your leo, especially if it is an albino.
Mardy is right, your leo will be OK for tonight, but you need to get a heatpad ASAP.
Take a look at this link: http://www.leopardgeckoforum.com/t166-proper-housing-for-leopard-geckos it has a lot of helpful information about proper husbandry/housing of leos. Really a must read!

Re: Urgent! Light question.
Thanks for all the information! This may seem like a stupid question but what side should the heating pad be on? The hot side or colder side?

The hot side. The hot side will be made hot from the heat pad.
The point of having a hot side and cool side is so that your leo can move from temps. Especially at night, leos are used to cooler temps at night. If the hot side gets too hot (although you should have a probe thermometer placed ON the hot side so you can make sure it doesn't get too hot & one on cool side so it doesn't get TOO cold) the leo can walk to the cool side. Kinda like, if you were wearing a sweater and get too hot, you want to take it off. Leo can "take its sweater off" by going on the other side of the tank. LOL! :P
Hot side should be between 88-95*F. (31-35*C Approx.).
