Re: 2nd season breeding and have problem with eggs
Sounds like your humidity isn't high enough.
Do you mind running down the specifics of your incubator? Container, substrate, how your heating it and monitoring the heat and humidity?

You havent given us enough information to make an accurate guess as to whats going wrong
Re: 2nd season breeding and have problem with eggs
Im heating the eggs in an incubator
I keep them in vermiculite at 84-86
Have temp probes in the egg container
I do have a humidity probe but not using
it this year because most breeders i speak
to dont use them and its funny that last year
I took the humid probe out and i got my
Last 3 to hatch think i was paying too much
Attention to the humidity ???

Re: 2nd season breeding and have problem with eggs
how moist is the vermiculite? Everything else sounds fine.
Re: 2nd season breeding and have problem with eggs
Well, I don;t know if you're opening the container or something to view them. But everything you've said points to humidity issues.
From what I hear, vermiculite should be mixed with a 2 to 1 water solution.
So for every (measurement) of vermiculite, you mix in two (measurement) of water.

Re: 2nd season breeding and have problem with eggs
Well, generally opening the container KILLS your humidity for a short while. But, done too often can result in some bad things.
