Any idea how much is a THermostat for reptiles ?

I'm looking for a thermostat that i can use for heat cables but idk what brand is the best or worth it. Thanks!

I recommend the hydrofarm thermostat, it's not expensive but is highly reliable.

I am looking for a good thermostat as well, that wont break the bank like helix or spyders.
The hydrofarm looks great, but does it have any sort of safety shut off? And does it actually regulate the temperature change, or does it just switch back on and off to keep the temps the same (if that makes sense)

It is actually a pulse thermostat, meaning it actively regulates the temperature. As for an emergency safety feature, I'm not sure because the thermostat is made to go with heat mats designed for plants. Though, it does specifically say that the thermostat works with all heat pads.

Many members use this thermostat here on the forum, and stand by it!

I have the Hydrofarm one too! It's great. I also have the Zoomed one and it works well too, but I don't like the fact that it just has a little dial without numbers, so setting it is guess-and-check and you need a separate digital thermometer. The Hydrofarm one has a built in therm that is pretty accurate!

I checked a reptile thermostat and it goes around 130$ ++ depending on the model. I guess ill take this one.

Is there a store that sells it like Walmart, Sears or its only online shipping.

I'm glad you guys posted about this product. I just started looking for a thermostat and BAM, there's a topic about a cheap thermostat. Just placed an order for one of these to test it out.

There is some things like this, that that philosophy is an okay rule of thumb. Though, I warn against negelecting your local reptile shop (given that they treat their animals right) because there will come a time when something (like a live animal!) is cheaper or easier to obtain at a local reptile shop. A given too is that they can special order stuff for you too. So, keep your specialty stores in mind; there might be a day you need them and they may have gone out of business.

It's hit and miss with the stores around me. One of them is just bad all around because they don't care for their animals properly and give false information because they do not know what they are talking about.

The other one is pretty good with the health of their animals, it's just one lady that works there is quite mean.

Whenever I'm down from college, I make sure to go spend some money at my local reptile shop Alligator Alley. They've got great prices for frozen feeders for my snake and I always like to see what animals they've got.

Feeders are the worse around here. $2.50 for a mouse and around $4 for 50 mealworms.
