Mealworm Temperatures?

I'm looking to order some mealworms online so i can start a mealworm breeding farm for my future Geckos and i've been looking online and i can't find a good temperature rate that the mealworms can stand
32-61 (degrees Fahrenheit) - sunny - 10% chance rain - Monday
28-57 - AM clouds/PM sunny - 0% chance rain - Tuesday
29-54 - partly cloudy - 10% chance rain - Wednesday
26-47 - cloudy - 20% chance rain - Thursday
20-40 - partly cloudy - 20% chance rain - Friday
19-41 - partly cloudy - 10% chance rain - Saturday
24-43 - sunny - 0% chance rain - Sunday
would it be okay to order mealworms in this weather? i can order them with or without heat packs but i was just wondering if this is okay?

i do it all the time an thay all come ok an im from the windy city so its cold here just make sure you dont let them sit out side all day

Better safe than sorry, order them with the heat packs and you won't have to worry.

Usually, with that kind of weather, the seller should have a "order without heat packs = no live guarantee" so if you take the precaution, and they meal worms end up DOA then you can report it IMMEDIATELY and have a new order sent out to you for free, when the weather clears some what.

do you put heatpacks in yours?

I've ordered crickets from Fluker's before, they raise great insects. Their two day fedex or Priority USPS is perfectly fine, they won't ship out until the weathers clear. Just note the big red font on the shipping advisory page NOTIFY WITHIN 24 HOURS OF RECEIPT OF PACKAGE ABOUT DEAD ORDERS! It'll save you a mountain of head aches and lost money!

Most sellers won't guarantee live delivery if your destination temperature is under 30 degrees. Rightfully so as that's below freezing temperature. If your temperature is going to be between 30-50, then adding a heatpack and you should be fine, as most sellers will still guarantee live delivery above 30 degrees.

Also check out grubco.com, they got quality feeders and shipping price is also reasonable. One issue I have with flukers is that they force you to use overnight shipping sometimes, and the price of shipping alone could cost 3x the price of mealworms.

It really isn't right, Flukers has a 15F or lower restriction where if its below 15F they won't ship. So, with Fluker's, as long as the night time low doesn't drop below 15 they'll ship.

@Kodieh - thanks for the summarized form of their ordering, do their feeder insects actually stay alive? i've heard a few bad "rumors" about Flukers but that's it; are their insects capable of breeding and such?

Wait me? No I don't sell feeders lol. I use grubco for mealworms/superworms/waxworms, and buydubiaroaches.com for roaches.

You can get good deals from non-brand name companies, but make sure you either know them, or you are recommended to them. Getting healthy, parasite free feeders are very important. I personally avoid ebay unless it's someone I know, or someone recommended to me by someone I know.
