My new leos
So I picked up a package deal and thought I would share them with you guys. I know that some are VERY VERY skinny and I am working on them....lol.
First up is a Tangerine Enigma. Quite sever syndrome showing so far but once she settles in it should help. She is a little bit skinny and seems to need help catching her food.
Next up is a Mack Snow RAPTOR with snake eyes. The eyes are really cool and I love the marking on him.
Here is an eye shot.
The next one is a Blizzard. Does anyone else find that their Blizzards seem to be wild. I have three of them now and find all of them to have an attitude....lol
Next one is supposed to be a Phantom but I think it's just a Tremper Albino, which is fine by me because I like them and have a few breeding.
The next one is a Dreamsickle. This is the one that really attracted me to this group. I love these guys. As you will see he is in need of some very very serious TLC. I have started worming him already and he is definitely quaranteed and being hand fed to ensure he is eating.
So those are my new leos. Some need some work but I think they are all going to be just fine in the end. Thanks for looking.

Re: My new leos
They are all beautiful leopard geckos! I was talking to Terry on fb about them briefly. I was going to text you demanding pictures when I heard you were getting these guys but my phone was dead lol.
I'm jealous of the tangerine enigma - I hope her syndrome gets a bit better.
They are all extremely beautiful though.
The poor Dreamsickle! D: If anyone can get it better though, its you!
Good luck with them!

Re: My new leos
Very nice... The dreamsikle is gonna be gorgeous once you get him back up to par. I wonder if that tail kink is a genetic thing or an incubation thing, ir maybe the result of mineral deficiency.
Re: My new leos
Very nice! At the stage of skinny, you might consider asking the vet (if you have the money) to do blood tests for crypto. As many of these look neglected, it's a very good possibility. Here's hoping for just worms!
You're such a great mommy, Jolene!

Re: My new leos
Thanks everyone. I debated posting the pic of the dreamsickle knowing how sickly he looks. The person I got them off of said he was a fussy eater and was slightly skinny, I told him he was not just slightly skinny but anorexic. I brought him home and the first thing I did was deworm him and feed him. being hand fed he ate 5 mealworms. The next day I went and bought some butterworms and waxworms and he is getting a mixture of all that for the time being. He has already put on a gram since I have had him.
All the leos were starving when I got them home and even despite the near 3 hour car ride and being moved they ALL ate immediately upon receiveing food. I am keeping them on a few mealworms a feeding and feeding them a few times a day to put some weight on and prevent regurg. I have found this to work with some other rescues I have taken on.
They are all going to be beautiful lizards when I get them all up to par. I don't know how anyone can do this to any lizards but especially having a dreamsickle and letting it get into that shape is way beyond me.

Re: My new leos
Oh, and, yes! My blizzard/murphy's patternless (those dark patternlesses are all the same, haha) has an absolute negative attitude too!
Re: My new leos
Poor dreamsikle . No animal should have to go thru that. Likely once he gains some weight it may look like a regenerated tail aye? Something else you might want to consider hon is a course of probiotics since your deworming and their nutrient deprived out would certainly help restore gi motility and avoid constipation or the runs. Can't wait to watch them full out and become beauties

Re: My new leos
OH me too Kel. Is the probiotic the same as a multi vitamin? I doubt it but you would know. I take Blueberry back to the vet on Thursday so I will ask for some for him too.
Re: My new leos
I was given a powder formula by vet called "Carnivore Care" by Oxbow animal health. It's basically 50 percent fat and 40 percent calcium, if the dreamsickle goes off solid or regurg's I strongly recommend this.
Re: My new leos
Thanks so much Kodie. I will def look into that. If I can't find it I will PM you and see if you can get some and mail it to me..... COD of course....lol
Re: My new leos
No jolene probiotics are different from vitamins. this link well explain it all http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Probiotic hope that gives you a little better understanding hon

Re: My new leos
Cute geckos, they look in very poor shape but at least now they are in the hands of a good owner. So it's very lucky for them, and good on you to pick them up and "rescue" them.
I have to say I'm against people breeding and buying enigmas without knowing how much care they may require. A lot of the people out there breed them because they look "pretty", but once they hatch they found out how difficult it is to have to hand feed them and help them shed, etc.. plus various other issues they may bump into. So they end up in poor conditions as you see here.
I don't know the back story of these geckos so I won't assume, but I hope whoever you got them from are not breeding geckos as these are really poorly cared for. I also don't believe in paying money for geckos in such poor condition, because it only validates their practice and they may continue to breed such poorly cared for animals.
But on a brighter note, these geckos will have a much better future with you

Re: My new leos
I misspoke, it's 45% protein and 32% fiber with miscellaneous other amounts ( the next most abundant is Omega 6 Fatty Acid at 7.6% min) of nutrients to add in digestion and absorption.
Re: My new leos
Wow de ja vous moment? Plain yogurt is an excellent source of probiotics if your herp isn't lactose intolerant.
Re: My new leos
i thought your blizzard comment was so true!!! i thought its because he might be a male so hes a bit wild. (unsexed- still too young i think). My normal (i think female) just chills on my hand and on the table when I clean the cage but the blizzard is constantly flicking his tail everywhere and running away. once hes actually in my hand hes fine though for the most part
