Regurg or undigested mice in poo?
Please dont look if you have a weak stomach
2weeks in a row i've found this in my snow corns tub, last thursday was the first time and then again today. Im trying to work out if its regurgetated food or undigested food in poo, can anyone tell me or help? he's feed every sunday 2pinkie mice and he's still acting like his normal self.

Re: Regurg or undigested mice in poo?
Hi it looks like regurge to me, if this is the second time this has happened you need to with hold feeding for 10 to 14 days from the day of the regurge to give the tummy time to settle down, during this time do a spot clean and water change daily. My snow does the same thing occassionally and the 10 - 14 days rule sorts it out.

Hiya, Thanks for replying. I'll try leaving the feeing till the following sunday instead of feeding him this sunday. its strange as it happened after i changed frozen food supplier so i was wondering if it was the food not being any good.

There might be a connection for the next feed can you possibly get a couple of pinkies from somewhere else to try. I found with mine that once she regurged she continued regurging until she had the no food rule as the tummy needs to re balance itself. I'm sure you will have but just for chance you might have missed something have you rechecked the warm end temps as this can cause a regurge but to be honest yours looks to be happening very soon after eating so tummy upset seems to me to be the most likely cause. I was also advised to put some reptoboost into the drinking water every couple of days as well.

Well the other 2baby corns are doing ok on the same food but will try to get to the local reptile shop to get some different pinkies for him. thermostat that runs there rack is set to 86 as there are the corns, carpet pythons, a royal python, spotted & childrens python all in the same rack, i also clean them out everyday apart from the first 2/3days after feeding on sunday but i still change the water everyday. I dont really have the money to spend on getting any reptoboost right now(my other half just lost his job & i've been unemployed for 2yrs) but i have critical care formula, would that work?

Critical care formula should do the job of boosting the electrolites and minerals like reptoboost would but I think the problem is settling down the stomach and restoring the guts natural flora, which would call for a dose of probiotics.
That looks like regurge to me as well. Something else to consider, after the 10-14 day fast, I would only feed a half a meal, so only 1 pinkey, make sure he keeps it down for at least the next 2 feedings (so that would be what 2 more sundays right?) then you can retry her regular sized feeding the following feeding. Hope he turns around for ya hon... good luck.

Sam send me your address on PM and I'll pop you some reptoboost in the post as I've still got most of it left.

Re: Regurg or undigested mice in poo?
Aw sam that would suck... Sending good vibes it isn't crypto. Time to quarantine frosty far away from the rest of the herps (as I'm sure you know), total hospital procedures with everyone until the test comes back. I'm so sorry youre going thru all this hon, when it rains it pours. Maybe a little comfort in knowing the worm does have to turn, balance in the universe and all that so things will get better eventually, just be song hon *hugs*
Re: Regurg or undigested mice in poo?
Thanks Kel, he's been quarantined into the spare room well away from anything and gets cleaned out with F10 disifectant daily and i wash my hands with F10 gel when i leave the room and then go to the bath room and wash my hands again.

Re: Regurg or undigested mice in poo?
Right the vets called me earlier to say the lab def suspect crypto but need another poo or regurg sample as first poo sample had to much urate and not enough poo so as soon as he pooes again i've got to rush another sample in to get sent to the lab.

Re: Regurg or undigested mice in poo?
That's very unfortunate, hopefully it turns out to be just a similar parasite.
Re: Regurg or undigested mice in poo?
Awww hon... Hoping for the best. Sending good vibes your way. If it is crypto does the vet have any concerns for any of your other herps? Wonder how this guy got it.
Re: Regurg or undigested mice in poo?
Thanks Kel & Kodie No the vet has no worries about our other snakes as they never come into contact with the regurg or poo and i always wash my hands in between cleaning out each tub.
