Tile isn't really recomended. Paper towels is the most recomended for substrate. You can also use coco fiber, peat moss or eco earth as a substrate, but only do this with adults and if you are wanting a more naturalistic vivarium.

awesome that's okay because I use compost for my giant african land snails.. I'm changing their substrate to plantation soil soon so I will use that how often do you clean out the substrate if you are using loose soil-type substrates?
