Some of my rescues
This one I have named Tiny, I figure you can guess why. This is the smallest one that has MBD but has an appetite that just goes crazy!!
This is a really nice looking male tang that came with the group. His tail is awesome!
This is the one that laid eggs last night. I am thinking that she is a phantom. She is very loveable and just wants to be held and sit on my shoulder all the time!
This is a FULL grown male adult. He is the one that I have been the most concerned about. He has good days and bad days and today seems to be a good one.
This one is gravid also and looks like she is going to be laying soon.
This one is the big boy who I think got everyone "knocked up". He is obviously getting ready to shed.
This one is Twiggy. When I got her she had laid eggs the night before I picked her up and when I got her her tail was the size of a small twig. She is getting ready to lay another set so I am working on stuffing her full to the brim while I can.I believe she is a bell hybino with her red eyes.
So, here are some of my rescues. Some are not so bad but some have been worrying me. Some day I will get around to posting my non rescue ones because they are just gorgeous....of course!!
Re: Some of my rescues

Re: Some of my rescues
Yeah, they are looking pretty good. I have had them for a couple weeks so I have been working with them, but yes, they could definately be worse. Tiny had me laughing last night when I fed them. I drop mealies in front of him so that I know that he is eating and this little tiny lizard grabbed a hold of a mealie and started shaking it to "kill it" until he fell over. I just had to laugh because it was so cute for this little guy to be acting like a big guy!!
Re: Some of my rescues
that is funny for the little guy at least he's got a good appetite for a tiny guy.

I especially love the black coloured one
I think it is just the lighting Sarah lol.
Some really nice one's there. I love the one second from the end, the bright one with a slight stripe. Looks like a nice sung;low?
Re: Some of my rescues
It is a bell hybino with ruby red eyes. And that one is black. I think today I figured out why though. At first I thought it was lack on proper heating but he hasn't been changing back. Today I went to check on him to see if he had shed properly and found that he hadn't shed at all but had turned blacker. I soaked him in warm water for 20 minutes and peeled off about 3 layers of skin I would guess. He is quite a bit lighter now.
Re: Some of my rescues
the black one looks like a blizzard i used to have that started off white/yellow and when came to this country from the USA she went bluey/black
poor guy being stuck in all that skin

Re: Some of my rescues
Well he has always been super jumpy and I had a hard time handling him which I have never encountered before. Now, I don't blame him he was literally too big for his skin. When I started soaking him he freaked out but once I got him settled he just sat there and watched me do the dishes. After I got the shed off he just sat on my hands like he's alway been my best friend. I guess I would be cranky too if I was in skin that was too small for me.
Re: Some of my rescues
yeah i think i would be cranky too, bless him, he must feel so much better now that you got all the skin off for him.
I have a diablo blanco male & female that hate being handled no matter what i try to tame them down so only handle them to clean them out now

Its really nice. (Sunglow - Hybino, same thing pretty much), Does it have eclipse eyes too? Or just red pupils?
Yeh must be a blizzard then. Some people call the dark blizzards 'Midnight Blizzards' but they're just the same really.
Re: Some of my rescues
Eclipse eyes. They whole eye is red. I did not realize that sunglows were about the same thing. That's cool. Her eyes are amazing and actually there are two like that, I just haven't named the other one yet.
Re: Some of my rescues
So its a Typoon? ... or it may be a raptor. More likely a raptor.
Roughly, hybino's are albino hypos, Sunglows are same but with carrot tail. And varying amounts of orange depending on quality.

Re: Some of my rescues
What would be the difference between a typhoon and a raptor. i know what a RAPTOR is, not sure about a typhoon.
Re: Some of my rescues
A typhoon is the rainwater equivalent of Raptor.
I actually meant to Radar lol.
A radar is a Bell albino equivalent of raptor.
So...
Radar = Bell, eclipse
Typhoon = Rainwater, Eclipse
Raptor = Tremper Eclipse.
But if i'm honest, i doubt that your gecko is a RADAR, because they are very rare, so it is probably a RAPTOR, and the breeder has identified the albino strain wrong.

Re: Some of my rescues
How is the one with MBD doing? I think it's great when people take-in rescues--I really admire it.
Re: Some of my rescues
Tiny is doing fantastic! He is an eating machine and the stronger he gets the better he seems to be able to manage the MBD. He is a smart one. He figured that he could get under the paper towel when I was giving him his light treatments so now the little guy has to just sit on the glass because anything I put in there he just finds a way to use it to avoid his treatment.
Re: Some of my rescues
awwww bless him glad to hear he's doing great

Re: Some of my rescues
Sounds like it might be stressing him out a bit then.
A Vetark calcium treatment may be the better choice, that way it won't be so stressful.

Re: Some of my rescues
I have never heard of that Jordan. He is going really well with the light treatment healthwise. He is walking normally on his front legs again and is just having a little wobble in his back legs. Could you please tell me what the vetark calcium is?
Re: Some of my rescues
A brand called Vetark (might only be a UK brand) do a good Calcium restoration supplement for deficient in calcium lizards.
I have only treated one MBD leo in my time and i used it and i found it did the job very well. I'm not saying its the best method or better than the light treatment, but its commonly known that lights cause leo's stress, so it avoids all the stress of lights.
Glad to hear he is returning to good health, do what works for ya. A little stress isn't a big deal if your saving his life. Im sure if he could speak to you he'd rather has his life saved than the lights off.
