stubbs and delilah... Empty stubbs and delilah...

Hi guys, as you know my little femals stubbs hasnt been eating i weighed her yesterday to find she had lost 2g in a week and was painfully thin at a total weight of 8g (at 5 months). So I took her to my local reptile shop who said they'd take her for the weekend, observe her and entice her to eat. I popped in today to check on her and found a gorgeous little albino up for sale (they have already been quarantined etc and had feacal tests as standard in the shop) snapped her up asap and the guy had already named her delilah which i liked so its stuck. Now she's home and in her viv... only to find she is actually a he Sad

My question is, which i already know the answer, but can a male and female live together without mating and all that or is it just inevitable? Can you get lizards spayed? Sad I dont want him to go, he's absolutely gorgeous! see below (and you'll see the male bulges too...)

And an update onto stubbs - she has been with them since yesterday and she has eaten 1 waxworm so far, but they are going to keep her a few more days and call me on monday and let me know what crack is

Bulges don't explicitly mean male, a proper shot of the vent would help us determine it.

You can get leo's spayed, but their so small I'd put money on there being a high death risk involved.

he definitely is a beauty but i think that your money would be better spent on getting him his own cage instead of having your female spayed. a little 10 gal with a UTH, some paper towel substrate and some hides would work just fine until you could decide on a better viv for him.

thank you, I think she's gorgeous, oh yes severe monitoring will be done, I am going to weigh them both weekly to make sure there is no weight loss and give them seperate moist boxes so they can have some alone time.

Hopefully stubbs will be back home with me this week - the man said that she has eaten around 2 waxworms now and maybe a cricket - but she has this little habit of chewing on something and spitting it out so not actually eating it. I hope she's back soon i miss her cheeky little stares at me through the glass and she was just started to get tame and let me pick her up!

The new albino is not phased by being touched with is good, she was originally the shop owners favourite and held off selling her until i came in and gave puppy dog eyes so she must have been handled a bit before Smile

Congrats on getting another leo.

I hope Stubbs gets better soon and is home again.

I would still QT your new leo for a bit, to learn her habits; eating, pooing, attitude etc, as well as making sure she is healthy.
