New Gecko!!
So yesterday I went to the exotic pet show, and got a gecko!!!!!!!
I looked at a lot of leos, but i ended up picking three out and the took me forever to pick "Tunechi" out. Its a boy.. and if you didnt catch on i named him Tunechi. The breeder said he was an Tangerine Hypo.. He is very pretty...and out of all three he was the most active one!!
He's very skittish, he wont come out of his hide..but i guess he will over time, I hope so.
But i have a couple questions. When should i try to feed him? and I have a bottle cap with some zoo med repti calcium without D3 is that enough or does he need anything else?
I will post pictures of him soon, but i dont think he like to be away from the hides
Here is a pic of him before i got him home

Re: New Gecko!!
Congrats Duke.,.. what a nice lil boy and love the name You can try feeding him whenever you like. I waited 2 days before I tried to feed my leo, but then again he was shipped to Pa from Utah so he had a bit of a more terrifying journey than your boy but Eros took food on day 3 as soon as I offered it.
Your leo will come out and explore his viv likely late at night when the house is all quiet and he feels safe. In time he will start making appearances once he's comfortable with everything and realises nothing will eat him I've had Eros since last October and he is just NOW, a year later feeling comfortable enough to make public appearances when he hears comotion in the room he stays in. Previously he'd just stick his head out enough to watch but now he comes completely out of his viv and walks around to watch whats going on (it's usually feeding the dogs since they share a room, I think he likes watching all the dogs honestly). I think it took Eros so long to feel comfortable as he was tub kept then going into a naturally decorated 20 long viv was a bit of culture shock for him. THey usually settle pretty fast esp. if you got a healthy active fellow (which it looks like you did ).

Re: New Gecko!!
Looking really good, give him about three days or so with limited to no contact so he can settle in. Then try and feed him after that.
If he doesn't eat, don't be surprised.
