Food question Empty Food question

Post by fufucuddlypoops6 Wed Aug 31, 2011 7:08 am

I have Repashy, I have apple baby food. I'll get bugs when he starts eating.

Is it okay to mix the Repashy into the baby food instead of water sometimes?

From everything I understand, as long as it makes the "correct" consistency; yes you can use baby food. But the thing to watch for is if the little crestie eats more with or without the baby food.

Thanks guys! Rixxter still isn't eating, but I'm pretty sure it's because he's still adjusting to being here and possibly because he may be shedding soon. He was on the bottom of the exo-terra yesterday and it scared me, but that's what I think was going on. Or he was tired of climbing.

How long before I should be worried that he's not eating? I know they can go for a bit without food.

I've only had him since Sunday. Now I'm tempted to try the finger trick, but I don't want to stress him out.

Small success! I had some baby food on a spoon and got a teeny tiny bit on his nose and he licked it!

... He ran away, of course, but he licked it before he ran. It's a start.

I got him to lick two more times, but nothing other then that. Now he's hanging upside down from the top of his exoterra... I know he won't, but I'm scared he'll fall.

I was going to nap when I heard a thud. I shot up, and he was fine. It was my mom downstairs. DX

I put a tiny bit of food in every day, and change it every 2 days. I've had a little more success with the nose trick, but he still isn't ready.

Aw!

He's getting enough water, which is fine for me. Every time I spritz him, he'll lick himself and around him for a few minutes. And we're trying crickets, since the breeder we bought him from said he mainly fed him on crickets and baby food. (He may have been a breeder, but I'm wondering how much baby food he gave his little ones.)

We gave him 2 dusted crickets, and I don't see them anymore, so I guess he ate them.

He doesn't like to be watched when there's food around. He'll stalk to, but not get anywhere near it.

And I think he's scared of superworms. We tried to give him one yesterday, and it crawled on his foot. He ran off.

as long as he eats once your not watching then thats good, out of my 4adults i only ever see 1male eat Dave will come out of hiding as soon as food is put into his tub but the others wont come out until we've gone to bed Smile also mealworms are smaller than superworms so shouldn't scare him too much Smile try putting them in a high sided bowl in a corner so your boy can climb down to them and they cant get out Smile

He shed! I get overly excited when they do that. Very Happy So maybe that's why he hasn't really eaten much. But I'm giving him crickets again today.

Is it okay to put a soda cap of the powdered calcium in with him?

yeah it could of been that fact he needed to shed that he wasn't eating much Smile just keep a eye on his toe tips for skin stuck around his claws Smile

i mix liquid calcium (zolcal-d) into my guys/girls food once a week or in there water a couple of times a week Smile also the gecko diet should have calcium in it that they need

He won't touch the Repashy. I got some on his nose, but he hasn't really shown much interest. Maybe it's because of the shedding. But I'll try tonight. And he te his crickets today! Yay!
