how to clean out a sick geckos tank?

i rescued two geckos with mouth rot and one who had serious eye infections. Im sorry to say that i am going to have to take them to the SPCA since i dont have the resources to make them better. I'm hoping to re-adopt them when they are better, but anyways i wanted to know how to sterilize their tanks when they are gone tomorrow so if i choose to put my other leos in their previous tank that it wont get them sick also.

Bleach. Wash everything you can with bleach, soak decor and throw away anything like substrait, moss etc. if youre using tiles, ceramic or vinyl, take them out and sanitize. Wash everything off with mild soap and water then let air dry. Don't reuse them until they're completely dry. Bleach fumes can kill a leo.

If there was a chance they had crpto, you have to use ammonia that is the only thing that kills it. It may be a good idea not to rescue anymore if your not going to be able to get them vet care.

it was an unexpected rescue. i dont go out of my way to rescue. i adopted one of my leos from the spca so i know they will be better to help.

The only problem is, is that the ammonia needs to be a 5% or higher solution to begin to be effective. Even then, though, the crypto could survive. The only sure fire way is a sterilizing UV light.

Also, at the current medical understanding of crypto, there is no way to cure it. Your gecko if infected with suffer for the rest of it's life with crypto, you can maintain it but the most humane thing to do is have the gecko euthanized and to toss out everything used in conjunction with the infected animal so that it doesn't spread to the rest of your collection. Also, you should thoroughly wash and sanitize your hands before and after handling, working, or cleaning the infected animal.

i know for a fact it is not crypto. the guy who i got them from said it was for a fact eye caps and rot jaw so im not worried
