First morph?
I'm curious.
What was the first morph of leopard gecko before it was domesticated? Was it the normal morph?
I know through selective breeding the other morphs were created, but what was the first?

Re: First morph?
I'm pretty sure the first morph was the attempt to breed out spots; or the beginning of the hypo's.
I could be wrong though.

Re: First morph?
High Yellow was the first selectively bred "morph". Check vmsherp for a bit of the history of the morphs.
Re: First morph?
Yup the Normal/Wild Type morph was the original as it is what leopard gecko's are in the wild.
After some time in captivity the first morph would have been the High Yellow, and then likely Hypo.
...Basically people were breeding for polygenic traits like this, and creating more normal variations, until lo and behold i believe murphy patternless popped up as the first recessive
