Water Bowl Empty Water Bowl

It might be. You could try putting rocks around it for him to walk on, but the big thing is it's probably too deep for him. You could try using a bottle cap until he gets bigger.

Yes it is very important to make sure that the water dish is not deep enough for the to drown in. I have panther geckos and when they are hatchlings I can only put about an eighth of an inch in the bottom of the water dish because they are only as big as my thumbnail:)

Having seen that bowl in my hands before, I'd say that you'd be good using it. Just don't fill it to the rim for now.

I would put some climbing material around it because it looks pretty deep.

i would recommend using tealight candle holders for all water dishes. there are some that are deeper that work great for older leos, but most are very shallow and perfect for baby leos. they are usually around 10 to 15 cents at most discount stores.
