praying mantis

anyone help with how to keep mantis ive been offered 1 an im considering if i should have it or not i think it was an egyptian mantis not sure if thats correct thats all the info i have lol cheers for any help/info in advance

I was under the impression that it was illegal to keep praying mantis as pets, or at least it is here in the US.

I am sure about where gman is but here in Canada it is allowed;)

Nope sorry. Apparently very similar to a simple stick insect. Was thinking of getting one when my Indian stick died but they fly and it put me off :/

I can't wait to see some photos.. I've always wanted a praying mantis.. I like the african ones and those bright green ones I've heard some of the bigger species can give some nasty bites

ill get some pics on by the weekend there only small at the mo so hopefully my camera is good enough to get a decent pic, im not sure if im defo gettin the egyptian mantis or not hes got a small selection of different types so gunna see which ones look the best, there not expensive either which is great lol
