What mealworms did to Chocolates tail
Poor Chocolate has had some damage done to her tail by mealworms that got out of the food bowl in her.

they chewed off the tip and some of the underneath

so thought i would share these pics with everyone to show what damage mealworms can do.

Re: What mealworms did to Chocolates tail
Wow and I always thought mealworms were one of the safest, they seem just as nasty as Mealworms. Poor little chocolate. Hope her tail and her in herself make a quick and good recovery
Re: What mealworms did to Chocolates tail
How did you get your fatties to eat mealworms?????? Mine will starve to death before they eat mealworms. I honestly did not even think that they could eat meals from the way mine reacted to them...hmmm....fussy little sucker I have.
Oh I really hope Chocolates tail gets better soon.

Re: What mealworms did to Chocolates tail
wow, never seen that with mealies. you sure they weren't baby supers? i feed all of my baby leos mealies and have never had an issue. and if any of you are interested in hearing how i got all my fatties off crickets, and onto supers and dubia, just let me know. would be happy to share.
Re: What mealworms did to Chocolates tail

Re: What mealworms did to Chocolates tail
Shawn, I would love to get my sons AFTs off of crickets, or at the very least eating a variety. Would you please maybe start a new thread for me on how to get them eating more variety? I would really appreciate it.
Re: What mealworms did to Chocolates tail
I was just gonna say that Jolene... Shawn would you like to make a caresheet for that and we can sticky it in the aft section? We seem to see that problem pop up a few times. Of course some LGF Points would be in store if ya did
Re: What mealworms did to Chocolates tail
well she has shed again and now only has a small scab on her tail tip but this never put her off eating the mealworms

Re: What mealworms did to Chocolates tail
That's scary Sam but I am so glad that Chocolate's tail is almost back to normal.
What I don't understand is how come the silly lizards don't just eat the worm/s that are bothering them or at least give them a good crunch to kill them. Surely they can feel the worm nibbling on them?
