I would want a Black Pewter ball python, with really dark colors or a super clean BEL or Ivory ball python.

Very Happy

I use to breed flemish giant rabbits sarah, but in the UK you're likely to find continental giants over flemish giants. They actually get BIGGER than flemish Very Happy

My dream pet... I'd love to own a horse... I use to ride in rodeos when I was younger at summer camp. That was loads of fun. I would also like to have another exoitc frog such as a whites, red eyed tree frog, or a giant waxy monkey tree frog. I work with dogs so I get a lot of my dog needs met by my job but breeds I would like to own in my lifetime... tibetian mastiff, french bulldog, dogue de bordeaux, scottish deerhound top the list Very Happy I just got my american bulldog so we can take him off the list Very Happy

I really don't have any desire to own birds or fish, but I can certainly appreciate a well done salt water tank... that's just loads of work.

Always go male over female.. they're a lot more balanced and less head strong over the stupid stuff...females are a trial... I'll never own more than 1 female dog at a time but I can have 5 males all in the same house with out any din.

We usually have girls for our dogs. Never really had any problems with them. I know males are easier. But were still deciding on the sex. We are going to look at some this weekend Very Happy We have been talking about it for so long I told my husband we just need to do it!

Wow got a few wants there Becca Very Happy

Fr carmella... if you've nevr experienced a male THIS is the time. If you've never owned a guarding breed lik a dogue def. Go with a male. Females tend to be more sharp, less balanced and shorter temper/tolerance. Males always personafy everything the breed is written about. 90% of unprovoked aggression is from spayed females and guarding breeds like dogues have a special set of qwarks all their own, not like a boxer or german shepherd. Fee free to pm me if you'd like to discuss it further... its not every day around here I get to use my expertise Wink

Thanks so much Kel for all the info! I've had males before. Guarding breeds too. My brother is a big wig for the border patrol. Specialized in the training in all of their dogs. Thats where he started too fresh out of highschool. Now hes 45, And he trains on the side as well. The government has given him really good training plus hes gone to school for it all. Believe me he has given me all the info Ill need. Plus whichever dog we get, they will be trained by my brother. So I am not worried. He is REALLY good. My uncle is a Vet so we can have the pup checked out rite after we get it. Even if its sunday! Thats the good thing about having a vet in the family, lol. Its all still up in the air, but if I have any questions Ill be sure to PM you Very Happy Another animal I want is a pot belly pig. We have a few acres of land and no "farm" animals. I always find that so weird, lol

You're welcome Carmella for the info... it's wonderful that you have so many great people at your disposal... just a word of caution... harsh training tactics like those employed by the military and plice training programs won't work well on a dogue... they are too emotionally sensitive for that... they generally work best with a positive reinforcement based program that builds trust rather than programs the dog, they have a lot of natural instinct so that all you really need to do is install their core foundation with training the self control elements and you'll have a great stable well balanced dogue. Can't wait to see if you get one... love those lil smooshy faced dogue pups Very Happy

yeah, my brother uses positive reinforcement with his personal training. He adjusts it to the dog breed. And they are not that harsh in the border patrol from what my brother says. I do have to say having a vet in the family is the best thing ever, lol. We have a Medical Doctor in the family, my bother-in-law. Lol, but I find myself calling my uncle more than my sisters husband! I love the wrinkles also!
