Hello from Wexford, PA!
Hey, guys and gals! My name is Lyndee. I'm 17 years old.
I've recently (maybe over the past year and a half) become obsessed with reptiles. I have a little leo named Misfit (so named because he had to be separated from his roomies at the pet store because they bit his tail off), who, according to the pet store, is around 6 months of age. Until he's of age, his gender pronouns stay as "he" and "him".
I love my little guy to death (watching him eat is one of the highlights of my day), and want to learn as much as I can to make sure he's healthy and happy.
I would love to expand my reptile family. If anyone has any suggestions for Misfit or on any other type of reptile, I'd surely appreciate it.

Re: Hello from Wexford, PA!
Oh boy, asking me which reptiles to get is a like opening a pet store...lol;). I have 20 adult leos and about 10 babies, 2 blue tongue skinks, a jewelled Lacerta, a savannah monitor, 2 pictus geckos, oh make that 3, one hatched today, 2 desert banded geckos and four schneider skinks.
LOL, there are many options, are you looking for small or large.....oh I almost forgot the 3 african fat tails. Those are nice reptiles to take care of too. They are VERY docile and are easy to handle:D.
Welcome to the forum, I hope you enjoy your time here. I look forward to chatting with you!! And I can't wait to see Pictures of your little misfit;)

Gargoyles, Cresteds, and Leopards are my favorites. I got to hold a crestie yesterday and basically died from how overly excited I got. Pictus geckos are super tiny, and I'd be terrified to take care of such a little thing. And moniters get HUGE! I'll be off to college next year, so I can only have little guys.
You've been very helpful already! I really, REALLY appreciate that! ^_^

Re: Hello from Wexford, PA!
His tail was bitten off by his cage mates, so he had to be separated and on his own. Hence the name. I connected with him as soon as I heard his story. It took a week or two to convince my mom (she said if I cleaned my room, I could get a gecko, and that was a month earlier), and now she's in love with him too!

Re: Hello from Wexford, PA!
Reptiles are addicting....If you need small since your going to be going to college geckos are gonna be the smallest. There is also bearded and water dragons,Uromastyx, and Blue tounge skinks are cool too. For a starter reptile keeper on geckos I wld stick w/ leos, fat tails, cresteds and gargoyles. They are all pretty easy to take care of

Re: Hello from Wexford, PA!
I'm already saving up for my next gecko! I plan on getting a crested gecko next. I've looked everywhere, and can only find gargoyles being sold online. But since I bought my leo, I've seen 6 cresties in 4 different pet stores, which makes me really excited. They're my favorites. I got to hold one yesterday for the first time, and I didn't want to let the little one go. I was so happy! Like a kid in a candy store! Or a girl in a reptile expo! XD

Re: Hello from Wexford, PA!
Welcome... nice to see another face from Pa, even if it is the eastern side of the state
Herps are highly addicting... I think Jordan should post a disclaimer across the top of the Forum *warning contents are highly addicting... proceed at your own risk* [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Cresties are nice lizards... did you know that if a crestie drops it's tail it won't grow back? Odd huh... also gargoyles tend to be a little testy... why is it all the pretty ones have attitudes... like tokays... can be down right scary... they're all so different and fascinating.

Re: Hello from Wexford, PA!
Tokays are gorgeous, but omg are they terrifying!
There's a lady I follow on deviantArt who breeds cresties, and she has a website and facebook page. JBCresties. She was actually around when one of hers dropped its tail, and took a nice picture of it. The muscle structure is amazing!
I love the "frog butt" cresties just as much as the ones with their tails still attatched.

Re: Hello from Wexford, PA!
I honestly think I like frog butts more. They're a lot cuter that way. And you don't have to worry about them dropping a tail.
-shudder- I've been watching youtube videos of different geckos, and the tokays are like Godzilla on meth!
