Re: Our First Gecko Setup
The tank looks really good. In my opinion everything seems in order, some people may say to add more hides, by taking out the huge one and adding two medium sized ones.
But its nice and has the same things mine does, mine is a 30 long and has two geckos, one adult and one older juvie. Both are doing great and have enough room to get away from one another.
Can't wait to see updated pictures as your two leos grow.

Re: Our First Gecko Setup
yeah eerything seems to be okay.
The only thing i would say is (but i am being a bit nit picky) that the large exo terra hide is way too big for leo's. The hide needs to be smaller so it feels cosier and secure. Also, its recommended that at least 40% of the floor space should be plain floor space, but after reducing the size of the hide, it shouldn't be a problem.
But you obviously did some extensive research as the enclosure is very good now. :thumbs up:

Re: Our First Gecko Setup
Yea I was planning on switching that out...it was just a hide that we had laying around. We have to make a trip back to the pet store to return inappropriate items and will pick up something then. Glad to hear that we did a good job :-)

Re: Our First Gecko Setup
Looks great! As jordan said, maybe a smaller hide so that there is more floor space. It also helps when feeding the gecko having a lot of floor space, so they have room to "hunt".
I really like it! Make sure they have a potty place :P

Re: Our First Gecko Setup
Ok so we just dug up an old hamster igloo and also bought a cool shelf thing at the petstore and this is the new arrangement.

Re: Our First Gecko Setup
Are you using that peel and stick thermometer on the side of the tank as your main heat monitoring? :S
Re: Our First Gecko Setup
Oh No! We have probe thermometers on each side that was on the tank when we bought it

Re: Our First Gecko Setup
I would put the moist hide 1/2 on 1/2 off the heat mat.

Looks great!
Do they use that shelf thing? I was looking at it at the store the other day and it looks really cool. I'd love to get it one day...
Love that picture of the gecko poking his head out the log! Very cute!
