egg bound?
Hi my female Bell Albino just laid egg one of the two (I can easily see 2 inside of her), how long does it usually take for them to lay egg number 2? She laid a perfect egg and then got out of the lay box and this was 2 days ago!

Re: egg bound?
I know from experience that they do not always lay both eggs at the same
time, my female waited up to a week to lay the second egg. If you are able to, can you take a picture of her belly?
Egg bound, more commonly know as dystocia; this is where the female fails to pass one or both of their eggs in a clutch, however the female is able to reabsorb their eggs, so failure to lay
eggs is not necessarily a sign of dystocia
Dystocia should be not
diagnosed unless you see the female straining, or it is obvious that she
is very ill. An obvious sign of straining is prolaspe of the cloaca
Other symptoms of dystocia can include:-
Your best bet is to monitor your female over the next few days and if she does not lay in the next 6 days, then it may be best to get it checked out by a vet.

Re: egg bound?
Yeah it can be very differcult to tell when they are egg bound, and it happens a lot less regularly than people assume. A lot seem to jump to being egg bound whenever there is trouble with an egg, but it honestly happens to leo's quite rarely.
I mean here is the problem with the list of symptoms;
So the only way to know really is closely observe make sure she doesn't start developing a second egg on the side where she has the possible bound egg.
I mean here is the problem with the list of symptoms;
- lethargy - producing eggs... gonna be a bit tired.
- loss of appetite - very normal around ovulation
- bloated stomach- well she has egg/s in there
- depression - they don't feel depression
- not responsive to stimuli - due to lethargy and weakness
- weakness - again, they are producing eggs and going to be a bit weaker than usual.
So the only way to know really is closely observe make sure she doesn't start developing a second egg on the side where she has the possible bound egg.
Re: egg bound?
Okay thanks. The egg is still high up so it may just be a few days behind the first egg.
Thanks
