I got these pics today when we had Iggy-pop out for handling practice
As you can see gloves are needed to pick him up

yeah i know i think he was worried iggy might fall

awww iggy is sooo tiny but his tail is soooooo long!

He still has a lot of growing to do. My cousin had one before she started having kids and this thing roamed around the house like a dog would. It was pretty friendly actually, which from what I have read on line(so take that for what it's worth) they can be pretty aggressive at times. Correct me if I am wrong on the temperment, as I said I got it from various websites;)

Iguanas are kind of a crap shoot with temperament... it's pretty much like any herp... the more time and attention you put into them teh more tame and responsive to you they should be... but there is always the exception to every rule.

Afraid of him falling sam or is Gary waiting fo the lunging dash up his arm for the juggular :P he is a good looking iggy...

they are known for being female agressive when its your time of the month and our local reptile shop has a large male that put its previous owners mrs in hospital twice before he gave him to the shop

I'll go for the lunge for the throat as Iggy doesn't really like gary that much

OMG in the hospital TWICE??? What'd he do to her? That's scary... and also why I won't work with any aggressive dogs during that time of the month... they just don't respect you as much when flo's in town

Sounds like Gary could be in for a bit of trouble

all we've been told is that he attacked her and will never be sold on, he doesnt react well when women walk past his viv even tho he's up as high as they can put him in the shop.

Im sure gary will be ok he'll just leave him for me to sort out like he does now. i think iggy only likes me cos i feed him everyday

Poor iggy has a problem with his left front leg and half that side of his chest so the vet drew on him earlier so i make sure that its not spreading but he thinks its a fungal skin infection so i hold him while gary scrubs his skin with a tooth brush and tamodine before i take him for a bath and we have to do it twice a day.

Aw poor boy. Thankfully it was caught early on. Does the vet charge you since you're helping them out by taking iggy or is this stuff he came in with? Gary sounds like a smart guy... put the woman in harms way

he came with it but nothing was said as it just looked like shedding skin but after a week of having him a chunk of crusty skin came off the inside of the joint and its was a bit gunky underneath and he'd been shaking his leg when he walked so i called the vets at lunch today and they saw him as soon as i could get there free of charge but if it continues to spread he'll have to have a biopsy to see exactly what we are dealing with (you can see in the 3rd pic the discoloured skin in his right front leg joint) will try to get some pics of the whole area tomorrow when we clean him up to show you.
I was wondering if his dislike for men was cos maybe his previous owner was a male who didn't treat him very nice? cos he doesn't like my male reptile vet either and even opens his mouth to bite him along with tail whipping

yeah bless him and the vet drew on him with permenant pen so we can see if it spreads at all, but so far it hasn't fingers crossed it wont

Here is an extra set of fingers crossed that it doesn`t spread;)

unfortunately the fungal infection has spread to his bottom jaw(very small patch) and his knee on the left back leg, so as of tomorrow he'll be starting a course of anti-fungal oral solution as well as being scrubed twiced a day (i couldn't believe how much the solution cost tho £50 )

I wish iggy-pop all the best. I hope you managaed to get him scrubbed up this morning on your own;)

yeah i did get there in the end on my own scrubbing him but he did try and help by holding the tooth brush for me while i scrubbed
