Help with Morph ID Empty Help with Morph ID

Post by Hobbsy Thu Jul 14, 2011 7:00 am

Hi Everyone,

Can anyone help me with the identity of this little chap please? It only hatched today and came from a vivarium that contained a male and female Mack Snow Bell Albino and a normal Bell Albino female. The puzzling thing to me is there is a slight yellow hue to the banding but also the hatchling has bright ruby red eyes. Hopefully someone can help identify what this little one is for me.

Thx, Hobbsy

Looks Albino to me, do you have pictures of her eyes?

Do they look like this? Oh you said they are ruby red, Albinos have red eyes or sometimes don't, i do not know if your baby eyes will change into this.

Also here is some information on Albinos and the different kinds.

Congrats on the healthy looking leopard gecko, normally Albinos have some problems, eating problems and they do not like any type of bright lights. I had one, she was an adult when I got her (Easier taken care of when adults compared to babies)

I hope all goes well with this Leopard gecko, if you have anymore questions ask away or pm any of us. Help with Morph ID 191501

It looks like a Mack Snow Albino (presumably bell since thats what you have)

and just to add on to the comment above, albino's ALWAYS have red pupils... 100% of the time.
All three strains of albino's are amelanistic, meaning they can't produce black, that include's the eye.

Sometime's it is a very dark red which can often appear black at birth however. But in the right light the rubyness always shines through Smile

Hi Sam
Thank you for lovely welcome!!

The sibling egg hatched today and that one is gorgeous too, but he is a lot whiter with no yellowing. He wouldn't let me see his eyes though Very Happy
