Hi from New Orleans!
Hello all! I'm Gabi, and I will be getting my second leo in a couple of weeks from Repticon. I had my first leo about 5 years ago. I made so many mistakes. The main one being, we bought from Petsmart and trusted how they instructed us to care for her. All of which was horribly wrong. Needless to say, she didn't make it, so I've spent the last few years researching and preparing myself for another one of these beautiful animals. I can't wait to get her and give her the appropriate care she needs and deserves.
Looking forward to posting here.

Welcome to the forum Gabi... REPTICON... sooooo lucky... you should be able to find several nice leos there... any particular reason you want to try wwith another female? I find my male so easy to care for, don't have to worry about the whole egg binding thing as well as ovulation etc., but each to their own I guess... can't wait to see what you pick up. Be sure to check out the proper housing set up stickey so you have a good idea of the proper supplies you'll need.

I was thinking about a female so that I could house more than one of them together at the same time, who knows, my opinion may change. Are females still harder to care for when you're not planning on breeding?
Oh, and another quick question: about how much are the leos at Repticon?

Re: Hi from New Orleans!
welcome. and to answer your question about repticon... well if its anything like a gaming cons i would expect prices to be pretty high depending on what your looking for. there are so many morphs varying from over 1k dollars to under 100 dollars and im sure at a con most breeders are bringing there best stock so the prices will most likely be high. but who am i, i've never been to a reptile convention. only gaming, comic, and anime cons. (im not into anime but my brother is lol) so i hope you have fun and find what your looking for! and again welcome to the site!

Hello Gabi welcome to the forum! I look forward to seeing your leo and chatting with you here on the forum:)
Re: Hi from New Orleans!
Generally here in the states you find extremes at both the high and low end at repticons. Get there early and you should have your pick of lower price leos or wait til the last minute and you'll find buyers willing to do good discounts so hey don't have to bring animals home. Don't be afraid to haggle with sellers. You'd be surprised at how willing they are to take a lower price.
Also housing more than 1 leo together generally isn't recommended. There's already a bunch of threads on the forum explaining the problems that can occur. Good luck! Can't wait to see what you decide on
