A surpise this morning
I got woken up this morning by my boyfriend saying "Theres only 1 leopard gecko in here....." I shot out of bed and began ripping out my room to find the escapeee!! Turns out the enclosure door had been open just a crack and my gecko is very curious!
After jumping about 3 foot from the enclosure, she must of scurried around my room for a bit (and hopefully eating some of the escappee crickets)...
I found her under my bed.... right in the corner! And when we tried to pick her up she ran under the bed again!
What a cow haha but good thing we've found her! I've put a lock on the door now, just as a precaution!
I've been hearing pawing at the glass door since then....I think shes had a taste of freedom!

Re: A surpise this morning
Sometimes I'm glad of my 12" tall terrarium. ;D
What an escape artist! The lock is an excellent addition of security.

If that happened in my room, I would never find banana.. it's really messy :P and there are some escapee morioworm beetles in there, too

Re: A surpise this morning
awww good thing you found her... if she ever escapes again and you can't find her set up a shoe box with some feeders in a dish in it and a hole cut so she can get in and you will likely find her inthere the next day.
That is why I love top loading tanks insted of those with sliding doors. I just don't trust them with all the little fingers in my house.

I am glad you found her:) I had a blue tongue skink pull a houdini the one day. I found out she escaped because my daughter came running in saying "Suzie Q is in my room".......lol...what a shock!!

Re: A surpise this morning
How the heck do you miss a HUGE missing bts Jolene? Ya think you'd notice her missing in the viv before she went on a walk about thru the house. My dogs wouldn't have been so kind. Silly lizards
Re: A surpise this morning
Lol! Good thing you found her. I would do what Kel said and put a little box with a feeder in a dish. I would recommend a shoebox for that as you would have easy access to it that way.

Re: A surpise this morning
Kel, she is upstairs in my bedroom and I am guessing had not been out for long. Also, they bury themselves in their substrate while sleeping so I can go and look in and NOT see her at all even though she is in there;)

LMAO Mark, you are so right on that, there is nothing worse than ninja crickets, and we all know the only thing that can take care of ninja crickets is ninja geckos

Re: A surpise this morning
Nah, we didn't hijack the thread, we are discussing possibly escape routes;)
Re: A surpise this morning
Hahah I have plenty of ninja crickets in my room unfortunately! Hopefully less now after her escape attempt..... I can just imagine her absailing off the wire while the greatest escape theme plays.
